photo scanner for my dad

hi...am looking for a good easy to use photo scanner for my father...he has a huge
pile of photos from over the years in various sizes (some nonstandard sizes)

am going to put my old computer in his room (has enough ram and storage on the hard drive)

was hoping someone could give a recommendation on a fairly fast, easy to use scanner or alll in one printer/scanner unit that won't break the bank

would be nice if he could label or put a comment in for each photo
