I have SERO... F&F 500 as its called.......
All three of my phones are now available for upgrade. I need one for my daughter, who texts about 4000 per month (she's 16)...... I need one for my husband, who is lucky if he texts 50 a month. I have the Treo 755p... I text, get on the web, email, etc.....
Suggestions for phones??? I really wanted the PRE..... but can't get it with this plan :(
holy crap 4000 texts.
anyway you should get the Touch Pro, heard good things about it.

I have a Touch Pro and it is not a kids phone. She would kill the battery in half a day with all that use.

take a look at the lotus, qwerty keyboard, nice screen, comes in purple, and looks like a makeup comact. my daughter likes it because she can text with one hand.
I, also, am torn between my sero plan and the palm pre...

I'm looking for a new phone as well. Been out of contract with my SERO plan F&F for about a year and half because my samsung a900 was still working and I didn't care. I figured this phone would die eventually but nope still going. So now, I figured its time to upgrade to a phone that I could use Mozilla. I do mostly web browsing and replies on forums which would allow me to log in to those sites. anyone have any suggestions?

Im in the same boat. As much as I am willing to pay full retail for a Palm Pre, I am not willing to give up my SERO plan. I use my 700p just fine thank you.
I'm seriously considering the HTC TouchPro 2 when it comes out. It's a windows device, but the 800x600 screen, slide out keyboard, tethering through pdanet, and most of all, Opera Browser should keep me happy until Sprint changes their minds and lets everyone get the Pre regardless of their current phone plan.
The Pre is an awesome phone, but I'd rather keep my $480/year. You lose on this one Palm.
Does anyone know when Sprint will get the TouchPro 2?

Soon. And once you use a touch Pro 2 the Pre will seem like a handicapped toy, it is not in the same league.

I wouldn't go that far. Hardware wise, the Touchpro 2 is superior, but its the OS that makes the Pre awesome.
Here we are in July and no sign of any Touch Pro 2. Come on.
touch pro 2 might not be available for people with the SERO plan.

This is just a suggestion, but you might want to look into the scp-2700. It's a pretty basic phone with a nice aesthetic. Stay away from any of the Rants or Rumors though, they're layered with problems
