Hi,
Please help me decide which is a better camera to pick ?
i am looking for a regular PS, but am not able to decide with so many choices around. So I thought, let me nail down to just 1 brand. And decided canon is the one, since I already own a SD1100 and xsi and am familar with the quality and wouldn't have any big suprises.
What in SD780 outstands SD1200 ? I am ok with the 10MP in SD1200, if that's the only thing. zoom wise which one would be better ? I like SD110, but am not happy with the zoom.
Which one would be better option to pick ? I need to get this as a gift for my uncle.
PLEASEEEEEEE suggest !
Thanks !

from Staples according to this front page deal here (expired yesterday):

Basically whatever Staples price was for the camera, minus $30 pricematch, minus $30 off coupon, minus $75 cash back reward. For the SD1200, it was around $95. For the SD780, it was $145. Add $1.50 for coupon and tax, ofcourse

ah...yeah i have been wanting a deal on one of these too and missed it cause i was only searching for "canon" in titles.
i am also trying to decide from SD780 and SD1200. zoom seems the same. the only difference i see is the 780 has hd video and the 1200 has vga. what is the big difference? i am a casual user. i heard the 780 is "noisy". what does that mean in regards to taking pictures and videos? is the 780 worth 50 more bucks than the 1200?

I liked the smaller 780 better. Noisy means you get a lot of granulation on your pictures. I can't attest to which one gives you better photo, but purely by looks, I would choose tinier sd780. sd1200 looked a little bulky.

Due to the difference in price and HD not been a priority, I picked up the SD1200 last night from abes of maine for $189. I know this is not a great deal, but this is the best I could find of SD1200 right now.

If the 12% overstock bing CB can be stacked with $20 paypal off $100, the price comes out to $160 at overstock for the SD1200.
Pay 180.99 with paypal checkout and get 21.60 back via overstock CB. The $20 discount is activated by clicking on the banner on the homepage, not by entering a coupon code.
Search for "pillow" or "wireless keyboard" on bing.

Don't forget the price difference.
SD780 is ~225
SD1200 is ~190

Wow, I wish I caught wind of this deal. I was thinking about an SD1200 for $180 from amazon, but now I think I should wait to find at least a sub $150 deal.
I bought this Canon Powershot SD1100 IS from Dell.com in Sept. 2008, and it is made in China...Very sad!!!
