I want to suggest adding a Buy/Sell/Trade forum to this site. I think it would benefit all of us. We could list computers, laptops, parts, electronics, sporting goods, you name it, whatever you want to get rid of. My friend buy's off the 7thgencivic forum on www.7thgencivic.com all the time and never has any problems. I'd like to get some feedback from this see if anybody else would be interested.

Edit: Just to get my idea clear, this will be like a classified section, not like the Help me find a deal section that already exists.

sorry

I like the idea - I'm looking for a used dvd burner right now.

This is a good idea for the following reason. There are some deals frequently for the bundles. Some people just need one item from the bundle and are willing to get rid of the rest for some small $$$. It can be useful for somebody else. Some people also have a sh*t load of old parts. Can be useful here. Another side of the story is that the prices here would be lower than in some other places, b/c people see what is available on hot/slick deals. I like this idea and support it.

I would disagree with this idea. I would rather have people advertise "looking to buy" situations, and let ppl PM them with offers to sell.

Better yet, keep it all out, less worries for our already over-taxed mods.

So, are you not happy that there are too many paople around? If so, surely buy/sell forum would attract more people and that's not good!

I say leave it out, less worry for the Mods

You gotta understand that a buy/sell forum is not really a forum - it becomes a venue for conducting business operations and those *must be* governed by rules and formal regulations as you can see on ebay, amazon, half.com, etc. A forum is not an appropriate means for conducting business transactions - not only that, it would also invite false advertising, scams, etc, etc.

well put except for the fact that ebay started out as just a forum, msg board that conducted deals and such, wasnt til much later that they started with the auctions and so on

also at another deals site, i wont post the link but its umm, :cough tech cough bargins, ;p they have a buy/sell/trade forum and i have never seen a problem, nor have i ever seen a mod do anything, ppl post FS: item, or FT: item

and if someone wants to buy or trade they reply, also u could make the forum only allow new threads NOT allow new replies, which means u can make a thread selling ur item and the person that wants to buy PMs u instea dof replying, keeps things better orginized, also lax the rules in there, let the thread author have perm to delete the thread or edit the title so they can change it to SOLD: item,

just to hhelp out, most ppl are cool about it and want to be helpful like that
