Well since its getting warmer im assuming my reciever isn't happy with that, I have a HK AVR-435 that likes to shut off randomly. I've switched out the circuit i plug it into, checked for dust, change the banana plugs, just to make sure it wasn't a short somewhere. I think i've figured out that its getting warmer... its the only other logical reason i can think of aside from theres plenty of good movies finally coming out and my reciever likes to piss on my wheaties.

Well now im looking to replace it with something and would like someones input.:look: :look:

Currently i have my 60" Kuro hooked up through a HTPC with a Blu-Ray player and a Auzen X-Mystique 7.1 Gold sound card http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-mystique.php. Sound card was purchased back in 2005 with the reciever. i have a 7.1 speaker set up which is also made by HK, HKTS14 plus two more matching speakers to fill out the 7.1.

I have been looking at the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver or the model under that the VSX-919AH-K. I cant personally see a difference aside from the 1019 is $100 more and if there is a difference, would i really notice if im having the computer handle all the video and audio?

Is there a better option for what I need it to do? Also, should I just go ahead and upgrade the sound card at the sametime, if so anyone wanna toss out a suggestion as to which one? I know a lot of people here are more knowledgeable than I when it comes to this stuff, I just know how to set it up and enjoy it :)

I don't know if you are still looking for receivers but I can put my .02 cents in. I am not a fan of low budget receivers from such companies as Pioneer and Sony. Seems like they don't quite live up to their specs as well as other better known brands. I've been doing a lot of research on HK and seems like they have a lot of qaulity issue lately.

I would definately look towards Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, and Marantz. If you don't need the latest options, definately take a look at refurbished Marantz at www.accessories4less.com

I bought the Marantz SR6001 for $350 and its quite a bargain. I'm using it with my Panasonic Plasma with Infinity speakers. It gets hot and needs breathing room.

Another option I would look at is at shoponkyo.com as well for their refurbished deals.
