FREE Baja Fish Taco Day - July 14th. Before 2:30p.m. One per customer. Participating stores may vary. No mention of it on their website though... Now showing on their website (http://www.ljsilvers.com/).

Could be another KFC/Quiznos style brouhaha :drool:

Today when I drove by the LJS, I noticed they had a sign out front advertising their FISH TACOS. I just think that a fish taco sounds so disgusting!:vomit: :vomit:

This is going to sound immature...but why create a fish taco?? Years ago in school that had a very bad meaning to it. Next they're going to come out with sideways clam or something like that.

This deal reminds me of Spirit airline doing MILF (Many Islands, Low Fairs) deal. It's like they know it's going to make people laugh so why not.

I just noticed their ad in the Red Plum coupon insert for this weekend. I'll be going with the kids. It sounds yucky but I've heard they're good so why not try it for free?! By looking at the picture it looks like they took a piece of their fried fish, stuck it in a soft tortilla and added some lettuce, cheese, and sauce....

Thanks OP - worth a try! In Texas we have grilled fish or shrimp tacos with cabbage/coleslaw, and a tangy spicy sauce - it is GREAT.

just a FYI, it only costs $.99 in the first place, so dont go to out of ur way just to get a free one! Great deal if ur going that day, but IMO not worth the gas just to get free taco!

Not sure why people always get disgusted when they hear "fish taco". I guess people hear that and think it's raw fish in a taco or something. You should try it once before judging it. :)

So I dropped a whole dollar :eek: on one yesterday.
It tasted... EXACTLY like everything else on their menu :lmao:

I might give it a try, but I totally understand the bit about everything at LJS tasting the same. My kids finally talked me into going to KFC for the "grilled" chicken. Greasiest "grilled" chicken I've ever tasted. I can't believe Oprah had the nerve to tout this junk as healthy.
Re: Fish tacos, I used to live in San Diego, and can attest to the amazing taste of a well made one. You can do it at home, too. Use taco kit (of course bought BOGO) and add gorton's blackened or lemon pepper fish instead of beef. Very good. Sorry to go OT, but I just wanted those who were afraid of fish tacos to give 'em a try. Can't speak for the LJS angle, though.

We tried the fish taco today- I like it, my DH said there wasnt enough fish (its like maybe 1/2 a piece in there) the only reason we had one is because of the free KFC meal -the Oprah thing- and here in our town, LJS and KFC/A&W are combined in some locations.

If you were passing by on the 14th its a great deal- but I wonder if that is 1 per person in the car or just 1 per car?

Went today; got there before 11:00 and no one in line. Got our free tacos - they are good (imho). They had a big sign posted FREE, and there was no coupon required. One per person.

They have tartar sauce in them, no cheese though, just lettuce and a piece of the fried fish and some of the crispies. Within 15 minutes, there were about 40 people in line - whew - we beat the rush!

I went about 1:00 ask for two tacos she gave me two with no questions. There were about 4 people in line and none of them ordered the free taco.
