I just got back from the Apple store. My visit was both the first and last time I will ever visit foot in such a place. After spending 30 minutes pushing my way through a shitstorm of people (most of which who had no intention of making a purchase), and being shoveled off from idiot sales associate to another, I finally was told to stand outside the store in the "iPhone line."
So I venture back outside to discover a 4 by 4 foot roped-off carpeted square in front of the store, with no labeling or sign whatsoever distinguishing what it was for. Here I stood for 15 more minutes before a sales associate approached me, asked which model I wanted, than requested my driver's license, credit card, last four of my social security number, and previous AT&T phone number. :(
After re-entering my personal information and desired AT&T plan details, this super stressed guy became frustrated with his cash register on a stick which kept coming back with "network error", each time he entered the details that tried to sync with AT&T's servers. After a few more minutes of head scratching and button pushing my new friend decided to borrow a co-workers cash register-scanner-thingie... we only had to stand there waiting for five minutes while the other sales associate to finished upselling unnecessary crap to an old couple on their $2,000 [insert 100 negative Mac comments here].
After successfully charging my credit card, and activating my phone I gleefully headed home to setup the phone.
Now, after opening the package I realize two things are missing: A Dock and those little black sponge earphone things that go on ear buds.
The original iPhone came with both of these. The new, more expensive ($15 more a month for the same service) doesn't!
Can anyone please direct me toward a good deal on a dock. Less than $29 + shipping for what Apple and Best Buy charges. Don't need a cable.
