looking for an B&M deal on a laptop. Prefer a core 2 duo under $600. I looked at the best buy and staples weekly ads but didn't see anything good.

I'm looking into a new computer when system 7 comes out in October. I'm willing to spend $700-$1000 on a new computer (not laptop) for the house. It is mostly for household use but I also love my games, so I want to put some cool equipment in it for the newest games. I'm just not sure if it is better and cheaper to build my own or just buy a prebuild one from newegg or bestbuy.
I'm not too worried about the rewarding aspect of building my own. I just wqant to get the most bang for my buck.

Its not a core 2 duo but it is half the price you were looking to spend.
