I'm looking for really good airfare and car rental deals related to a DFW-Vancouver trip during the 1st half of August (for about a week's stay).

Thanks in advance.

Will most likely be a lot cheaper to fly into/out of Seattle and rent your car there. Drive up to Vancouver (2 1/2-3 hours depending on how long the wait is at the border). If the car rental is cheaper in YVR, you can take AMTRAK from downtown to downtown (though the schedule is only 1 train per day and the rest of the trips are by bus).

:iagree: You can also slip through the border with the $20 passport too.

Passport card as opposed to the full passport book.

your hotel may have some discount coupons for car rentals...also check ur wholesale club if ur a member (like say BJs) for car rental coupons....
one more place where I always get great car rental coupons (like free upgrades, free day when you buy x days etc) is from my car insurance company.... ask them to mail u some asap n they should be able to....

UPDATE:Thanks for all your input.

Will not be renting car. I found out that it is more expensive with Vancouver flights (vs Seattle) due to taxes.

Now it is past a 21-day advance round-trip fare (which was $3xx.xx -- now about double that) and my procrastinating friend going with me needs an airfare only deal. Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

THANKS for your suggestions. Friend took a multi-legged flight vs. direct non-stop to reduce fare. The trip was great and Vancouver was beautiful.
