I would like to find a new auto insurance company as I feel I may be able to get a better rate. Which companies are good to deal with that aren't likely to screw me such as denying or delaying a valid claim, and would also have good rates?

probably depends on your city/state. I recommend Geico, it's the cheapest in NY.

try on insurance.com

what it will do is to look a quote for you on several insurance sites and then present you with all the options and prices.

OP, I feel compelled to say "obviously, you aren't familiar with the business of insurance if you think you can find one that doesn't want to screw you." but I won't.

I would suggest Geico, State Farm or AllState. However, be aware, the companies with the cheapest rates are sometimes the companies that are the most difficult to get a claim paid.

In Mass, I've used Amica for many years and filed a claim with them once, and it went pretty smooth. Since then i've switched to progressive, ONLY because it was cheaper. so far progressive seems to be pretty on the ball, but i've not had to file any claims with them.

Hubby and I are currently with Progressive and it is the cheapest for us. We haven't had to file a claim yet so I'm not sure how their system works.

My hubby was with State Farm for 3 years and he had 1 claim - his car was broken into and the CD player was stolen. Within a week, the broken window was fixed and we had a new CD player in hand. It was a very painless process.

I personally really like State Farm, but they are not the cheapest. If you want to save the money then I would suggest Geico.
