I searched for this for a while but cant find it. What ammount of posts do you need to give 2 rep points?

my rep counts as two, just over 2k posts (half as many as yours) and 1/3 of your rep points. maybe join date does count.

Cause I repped someone in the HD forum and it went from 11 to 12.

Haha, I didn't know rep points were taken so seriously. But this thread did help me figure something out that was really bugging me and maybe it will shed some light on the situation for others as well.
When I have been repping people for the past few months (maybe longer) their rep points have been jumping up by 2. LMAO, I THOUGHT IT WAS SOME KIND OF GLITCH.:lmao: This leads me to believe it has nothing to do with the amount of total posts you have (I have under 1,000) but may have to do with the amount of time you have been a sd's member. I'm June 2004. That is why AFX may not be allowed to give out 2 rep points, because he has only been a member since Jan 2005. Just my thoughts.
I owe the people in this thread rep points now for helping me figure something out that was really irking me. Thanks!

Everyone I rep goes up by three so it must be dependent on how long you've been a member, not on post count. Member since 8/03, post count 700 or so.

I just rep'd someone and their rep went up by 3, so yes I would say join date could be a factor.
Of course, there is someone out there who could post on this thread and clear all this up...:worthy:

You can click on the green boxes next to the reputation under a persons name. They can only be given out in some forums.
From the FAQ:
Reputation Points
Reputation points are a measure of good posts in the deal and tech support forums. Some users wanted some way to distinguish between great deal hunters and people who post a lot in the lounge and podium. There is nothing to gain by having a high reputation number, so begging for points is frowned upon. If you wish you can disable your reputation points by going to user cp-> edit options -> show my repution level. Conversly if you reputation is not enabled you can do so by doing the same thing. Under usercp you can see who gave you your last 5 points and any comments they might have left behind. A grey box is from people who are newly registered to prevent people from creating addition accounts to give themselves reputation points.
To give reputation points click either the user's reputation points or the green box next to it.

I was also seeing that 2 points are being given by me iam just 170 posts so its is something to do with the amount of time u spend or how long u have been a SDer

i think by now it's pretty obvious that for your first year, your reps count as 1. second, 2, 3rd, 3, and so on.
you should all rep me for clearing this up. i'm a better guinea pig.

If you want to give it to someone who posted on here, click on their name, then find the person's posts, out of them find the posts made on Hotdeals, Help me find, Tech, etc. and click on the thread link. Find that person within the thread and click on the green box or the number next to it. Test it out on me, I'll tell you if it works for you or not. :bounce:
