We live in an apartment and our fridge just died.. Our cheap landlady is going to get us a new one.. but my mom and I would like one w/an ice maker (we already have the hookup here from previous tenants).
Looking for a regular sized family fridge.. freezer on top .. 6ft or so with an icemaker.
Any tips or any big appliance store coupons out there? :wave:
get the lowes 10% moving coupon. not sure they still have the offer, but there's free delivery after mail in rebate.
you should also check B&M stores-home depot and sears are always clearing out open box, or discontinued fridges. some good deals to be had.

Lowes has the best prices on appliances. You can go to your local post office and get a 10% off moving coupon. They are valid on appliances too.
Be sure to ask the Lowes guy if they have any discontinued or damaged items as due to limited floor space, they're not always out on display. I've seen a perfectly good fridge that had a small scratch (about 1") on the side, once you slide it into place, the scratch would never be visible. But they had to sell it as damaged so it was a great price.
FYI, don't get a fridge with the freezer on the bottom and double doors on top as all brands in this style have problems. This is per the SD resident appliance repairman guru, BE.
Criagslist might be a good bet these days. With all the house foreclosures there are a lot of appliances going for cheap right now.

We told the landlords we'd pay up to $100 extra if they found one w/an icemaker. (They're kinda cheap..) They went to PC Richards&Son and found one.. not sure how much, but they called and said it's $96 extra for the icemaker.. So yay! My childhood dream of having an icemaker has finally come true... Now to work on getting that dishwasher.. hmmmm...
