hey all, I'm looking for advice on what ATA device to purchase for GV/SIP. I originally did this with Grand Central and my old Sunrocket gizmo. Could someone can give advice on an ATA device that easily unlockable or advice on a deal for an unlockable one?

Thanks,
jh

You could try ebay.

I bought a linksys rtp300 to use off of there about 6 months ago to use with Magic Jack. I had to unlock it myself, but it was pretty simple.

I have not set it up to work with gizmo5/GV, and it works really well.

You can also buy unlocked ones on ebay, but you might pay extra for those.

You could also try craiglist.

still looking for ideas if there are any out there...i've searched craigslist for rtp300 and spa2102...if there are any other suggestions, I'm open. Wondering if I can get an SIP based phone and go off that...

You need the Linksys PAP2T-NA for that.

Buy.com has the best price according to Google Products (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=pap2t-na&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=16639585396118339203&ei=HMVtSobnDaCltgfSkfmIDA&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=4#ps-sellers) and Price Grabber (http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/voip-phones/Cisco-PAP2T-NA-Internet-Phone-Adapter/m64677046.html/search=linksys%20pap2t-na/kw_suggest=1/st=query_suggestions/sv=findit_top)

http://www.buy.com/prod/cisco-pap2t-internet-phone-adapter-with-2-voip-ports/q/loc/111/202352780.html

BUT, Sears.com also has it and they also have a price match policy (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/nb_10153_12605_NB_CSpricematch2) where they will beat an online competitor by 10%! :-)

thanks -- saw that buy.com had them, but not willing to pay that much. I didn't know that sears had them though...I bit the bullet and bought an innomedia. I also say a bunch of pap2's on ebay shipping from hong kong for $35.00 (like hundreds and hundreds of them). I know google is a SW company (with some few exceptions), but I'd love to see them launch an inexpensive ata device...

Thanks everyone for your replies
