I'm not sure if this will come, at least for a while. The link goes to page that says you need to take the pledge 11/1, and when you click the link towards the bottom it directs you to another page. This page states that you need to only fill in your address if you want the magnet and omit your e-mail. I tried omitting the e-mail field, but it will not allow you to continue. I'll keep an eye out for it, reps for thinking about the furry and feathered ones!

I believe what they mean is you take the pledge whenever you want to that ON November 1 you will cook for your pets. I have already received an e-mail from them with a few recipes. I looked again at the form and it says "To get you started we will even e-mail you some of our favorite and most popular treat recipes. (Only enter your address if you want to receive a free magnet)" I'm thinking if you JUST want the recipes, you enter your e-mail. If you want both, you fill out the whole form......

Tatty, I had to laugh at the alcoholic beverages............... does anyone give their animals alcohol? Seems it would be a big waste besides not being good for them (thinking of my dog Odin with a buzzz!)
Nice post OP, thanks!

Wow...I was coming to post the same thing. That's what I thought it said at first too. :lmao:
If I started cooking for my pets, the kids would probably get upset since I don't cook for them. :whee:

I think that under the dust it actually says "cooking forty pets". Must be for folks who like to work in bulk.
Seriously, though, who cooks for their pets?
+1 none-the-less. This is good info to have even if not preparing things specifically for the animal. (My cat ate through a bunch of avacados once, didn't seem to phase him.)
I take that back, baking dog biscuits could be cost effective, I was imagining people food.

Just remember that rabbits, guinea pigs and even roosters all have different things they can and can't eat. And please remember that non stick pots, pans and everything else non stick kitchen related kills animals.

Especially fatal if you use the pots to boil or stir-fry the animals.

I know they say Avocados are bad for dogs but I feed my dogs Avoderm & they use part of the avocado in the dog food, but supposedly the parts that are okay for dogs.
I've also heard several different vets say garlic was okay when others say it's not. So who knows.
I don't give my dogs garlic though... but they LOVE carrots & bananas!

Dog food not researched is terrible for your pets. all the main brands (google dog food analysis) put cancer causing junk in it (everything rejected from human consumption eg hot dogs.)
costco kirkland is one of the middle of the road brands at 3 stars and by far the best bang for the buck.
I'd rather feed my dog some of the things on this list.

add grapes and raisins to the list also. I dont know for other animals, but it can cause kidney failure in dogs if they ingest large amounts.

I cook for my dogs every night, they won't eat anything but home cooking now. Once I started they stopped eating any dog food from store. The one good thing about it is when they have the recalls on pet food you don't have to worry about it.
They love fresh white rice and boiled cheicken.
I hated buying can dog food, it smells horrible and has bones in it .. yuck

when I was a teenager I had a cat with a bad allergy to everything in store bought food...vet said to feed her boiled chicken, rice, let it cool then add cottage cheese to help stretch it if I wanted to....my mom and/or i would make this in a big pan once a week (enough to last a week) and the cat lived for 10 years...
