Hello Slickdealers -
I have a friend that has a BEAUTIFUL 56" Sony TV in their family room. They are looking for a high quality home theater system including a receiver and surround sound speakers (5.1 is fine) at a good price.
In these tough economic times, I see a LOT of place selling speakers cheap. I just purchased the Klipsch surround speakers and 10.1 sub for $499 from Vanns.
Have you seen any deals on a 5.1 system? (with or without receiver - but they will need one seperately if it is without one) One more thing - he is very talented and works in construction so he wants to install the speakers in the wall. So it would be great if they were able to install in the wall although he said he may be able to take a regular speaker and mount it INSIDE the wall and just buy a new grill - but this may mess up the acoustics of the high end theater.
The receiver should have 2 or more HDMI inputs and eventually he wants to move all components to the basement and install sensors so he can control the components in the basement from the family room. I have seen this - and we know that part is going to be expensive. For now, he just wants the receiver and speakers - moving it to the basement is a project for later.
