I am looking for a 40-42 inch, 1080p, LCD TV. I don't care about the brand as long as it isn't something that's going to fail in a year. I don't care much about the contrast ratio, etc as long as it isn't junk.

I am looking to get it as cheap as possible. $500 would be ideal.

If it matters. I live in Appleton, Wisconsin (54956)

Given your fairly lax requirements, why don't you just search the "Hot Deals" forum with the query 42" LCD or 42" 1080p and see what comes up?
