Just bought a Mini 10v from Dell Outlet and want to upgrade the ram to 2GB.

Anyone done this? Tips, warnings, etc.

What RAM is compatible? Any deals?

Thanks!

This thread (http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mini-10-hardware-upgrades/7854-10v-ram-upgrade-2gb.html) may help. You have to sort through but people post what they've used. I successfully upgraded two different 10v's with Crucial 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148087). I used cashback and it cost me about $26 shipped. Hope that helps!

It's probably best to go with something that's been confirmed working and spend a bit more money. I can't imagine having to install and re-install again :-/

I might just pass on doing it. The only reason I bought it was for Fantasy Football...

Yeah I am that guy.

Thanks to both of you (and REP'd). I actually bought two Mini 10v's so I thought I would look for a 2x2GB kit (since damnyou's deal can only get one for rebate).

Found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227247

OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model OCZ2MV6674GK - Retail

it is OCZ which I heard is used by Dell alot. $47 shipped.

ended up getting the PC2-6400 800mhz which matches what dell puts in these for under $45 shipped. There are some corsair deals that would make it a few bucks cheaper but you also have to do rebates.

I got a mini10v and debating on the 2GB memory upgrade

OCZ 800MHZ

Crucial 667MHZ

I am thinking the OCZ because its faster, but the 667 seems to be the popular choice. Did anyone order an upgrade yet?

is the original one 667 or 800 in your Dell Mini? Are you planning to keep it or replace it?

The orginial is 667. No, swap out the 2GB for the 1GB.

I think you meant to take out the 1GB and put in 2GB

this one is good then
