Flight to Prague / Vienna from NYC

I'm trying to go on my honeymoon to Europe (specifically Prague & Vienna). Flights are pretty pricy, so I'm trying to figure out a more cost effective way to go there. We're looking to fly to Vienna / Prague August 30th (from NYC) and return from the country we didn't fly into around September 5th.

The best I could find is about $1000 a person for one connecting flight each way.

If you search cheaptickets.com, it looks like flying on that Monday (August 31st) and returning on Monday (September 7th) will save you two about $500. My husband and I are doing almost the exact same route as you and we found that if we fly in and out of Brussels the flights were direct and much cheaper. There are several cheap airlines in Europe (use www.whichbudget.com) and SkyEurope is even offering buy one get one free tickets if you book before the end of today.
