Looking for the best deal on an overly large tv, preferably 55"-60".
Wal Mart has this 55" Vizio LCD for $1,597, which I would get 10% off from employee pricing.

I own a few Vizios, and they're fantastic tvs, but I want to know if there are any better deals out there.

one thing you may want to consider when choosing is that a plasma often has a significantly higher power consumption which can add up over time in your electric bill

But larger plasmas are usually a bit cheaper than equivalently sized LCDs. The 54 inch Panny Neo-PDP's don't use all that much power. The Panasonic and Samsung plazzys are brighter this year (much closer to the brightness of LCD), and they have cut power consumption about 40% over last year.
