When I click on advertisments on the top of the page (most recently the amazon.com credit card ad) it opens in that window... is it possible to change it so the clicked ad opens in a new window? This would be nice so I do not lose the place where I was browsing... or even if I was in the middle of typing a reply and it caught my eye.
edit: I know that I can physically open it in a new window by right clicking... but I am assuming that slickdeals.net gets paid on a per hit basis for these ads? by right clicking and opening it in a new window would it not count as a hit in the programming?

It still counts as a hit from Slickdeals, unless the tracking software is incredibly broken.

I personally like ads to open in a new window as well. That's why I hate ads made in a certain piece of Macromedia software, which I can't right-click on for the same effect (or mouse gesture on, in my case).

Amen, let's make it easy for us to make the site money. Everything else (links in posts) open up in a new window, so why not the ads?
