Save me from the nasty hotel!!

I used the expedia deal to book hubby and I a ticket to San Diego. Now, after looking at reviews on other sites about the hotel, it looks like it can be summed up in one word...NASTY! Bad part of town and horrible hotel. But, we're stucked since can't cancel those and what kind of slickdealer would I be if I paid full price for another hotel after already having paid for that one. (Plus, just not having that much $ lying around for 6 nights hotel.)

So, I'm turning to you, my SD community. Can anyone help me find a place for us to stay? Either a REALLY good deal on a hotel (Sept 13-19) or anyone have a guest house or rental they would be willing to do for cheaply?

You should be able to cancel the hotel without fees if you call a few days in advance. Its flight tickets that you can't really do anything about. It might depend on the hotel, but the one I booked recently had a policy like that.
