I need a TV stand that can support a 46" LCD HDTV. I am not looking for wall mounts.

Check out the superstores. But I went with Craigslist and got a beautiful West Elm media stand for 100--but, that's just the luck of the draw. Also, its yard sale season--so check those out.

I need a TV stand that can support a 46" LCD HDTV. I am not looking for wall mounts.

Ive posted the best place in my region is Best Buy. They have a large selection of halfway decent ones and often have a sale on a few of them.

Theres a lot of places that sell the super cheapo ones that look terrible. Office Dept has a few that have that mdf look with plastic film glued on them with wood grain prints. Wal Mart does too but they have a few glass and metal stand though they tend to look cheaper than the BB versions. Target also has a few. Sears also has a few stands on sale once in a while. One thing I noticed when I went to my local Sears the other day, they have really cut back on higher end and even middle level furniture items and their overall selections in general. They almost seemed like they were competing with Wal Mart. They only had these cheap futon sofas and one very small normal sofa.

The good thing about being in the continental USA is that you can order from a few places online that have lots of TV stands on sale but you have to watch out for gross out shipping costs. Amazon actually has a few TV stands that even have free shipping. The problem with online buying is if it arrives broken though. Shipping it back is a real hassle as these things can weigh 80-150 lbs.

I saw this --- the INIT stand black metal and glass for 139 on sale.

I didnt like that slanted metal legs look when I was checking them out a few months ago but when I saw it in the store I actually thought it didnt look bad at all. It looks a little weird in the pictures.

If you're looking for a cheap tv stand I think this (http://www.target.com/Entertainment-3-Tier-TV-Stand/dp/B000J657DK/sr=1-1/qid=1250373453/ref=sr_1_1/186-6752016-3635004?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&index=target&rh=k%3Atv%20stand&page=1) will do the trick.

I use it for my Sony 46" LCD HDTV and it's sturdy enough to easily hold an LCD tv with maybe an inch overhang on both sides for a 46". Not too mention it's the easiest tv stand I've ever assembled. It happens to be onsale at Target for $29 right now which is extremely cheap considering most tv stands for that size tv are more than $100.

I recently ordered this one from Target. I got 15% off and free shipping and it came quickly. Very easy to assemble and looks real sharp.
