View Full Version : Idea for improving SlickDeals.net

I think there should be a forum in this website dedicated to extremely slick deals, ex. $99 koolance pc, Dell hd, Axim
The way the forum would work is everyone who is a member of slickdeals, and has at least 10 or 20 post will only be able to view this forum. This idea would cut down on the people who steal deals and never become a member or contribute any deals. Of course other deal sites could post the same deals, but at least people at slick deals have a better chance on not missing out on the deals.
What do you all think? Is this a good idea?

i vote for people with more than 2000 posts ;) it really doesn't matter how many posts you have. its just going to drive people to the other deal sites. worst thing would be it creates alot of board spammers.

Ain't how you grow a community..(by forcing them to join)
even though I do agree with the the part of stopping by and doing the "grab and go"...don't like that either
I used a alias of guest for about a year..before I "joined"
just cause someone signs as a guest..doesn't mean they haven't been here for awhile...
thats why it prob won't...."ain't gonna happen"

Yea, I've been coming here and posting for about 7 month's and I just joined about 2 weeks ago. So it would be unfair, but it also might make people more loyal to slickdeals and promote the community in a positive way.... you never know.
I personally wouldn't make it mandatory.
those "deals" (mainly misprints) have a way of getting out to/coming from other deal sites like fatwallet, so I doubt restricting the info here will matter.

Perhaps it could be a subscription where you pay like $25/month or something...
Now THAT would be "giving back into the forum"
as was said in the other thread, it would just cause people to put up posts such as "thanks" and "thank you" to get a larger number of posts

my idea is ditch the reputation points, ppl tend to take things personal or just to be dumb. my -2 points are because i said the color purple isnt my choice of color...now thats pathetic.
