My TV is strating to go out and I'm in the market for a new on. I want to get a LCD or LED. Plasmas. suck to much energy heat up too much. I can only spend about $600 and I need a 42inch. The only LCD's in my price range are LG. Leds are more expensive. what does anyone know about LG. are they good tvs. Do they have screen glare problems? Do they have a history of "black not looking black enough, more like gray"?
when is the best time of year or holiday to buy a new tv and where?

not going to happen, unless you want a olevia, microcenter sells them for $650 refurb, you're best bet is the panny x1 plasma

Not sure you know exactly what you're looking for....or the differences between LCD and Plasma....you would only ask if a PLASMA has glare problems....do some research and then you'll decided to pick up a 42" plasma for your price range....the actual difference in energy cost is MAYBE like $20 a year...yes they do get hotter but why is that such a huge problems??

It's hard to say what's going to happen on Black Friday. Many of the good deals are SUPER limited which means in most parts of the country SUPER cold as well. I'd say the LG 1080P lcd at $700 yesterday less 5% with a Sears Card yesterday would have fit the bill. Probably so good, it sold out. It's a regular stock item so I suspect the pricing and availability will come back around. it is sears item number 71859
