I would like it if there were a breakdown under the username when people post for the number of user posts in Deal Discussion areas (slickdeals/hot deals/freebies etc.) and then a separate post count for Everything Else (Lounge, Tech Support, etc.). Shouldn't be that hard to separate the two categories and would help identify slickdealers who post more for deals rather than general discussion. Thanks!

The Kev Master agrees but having a breakdown shouldn't be too difficult for the mods to do but it would make the thing a little cluttered. he thinks that the Everything else that doesn't help anyone shouldn't count. PERIOD!

the Everything else that doesn't help anyone shouldn't count.
Product reviews and tech support don't help anyone? Then what is their purpose?
The people with a large percentage of their posts in, say, the Lounge don't post that much in, say, Hot Deals. In fact, the larger the percentage, the less often it's an issue. So it kinda works itself out.
And anyway Lounge posts, which created the biggest ruckus, usually aren't added now. Over time, they will eventually be pretty much insignificant.

Ok, then let product review and tech support posts count toward "helpful posts." But take away lounge and podium posts and it should still solve the misleading high post count issue.
Also what do you mean louge posts "usually aren't added now?"
Anyway can my suggestion possibly be implemented?

keeping with the spirit of the "deal's posts being counted only" then all non- useful posts even in the deals section should be deleted or not counted...there is a LOT of crap in many of those threads.

The Kev Master said everything else that doesn't help people, meaning that if it doesn't benefit SD it shouldn't be counted. The product reviews and tech support have to count and people like Redsolar are always out there helping others, it doesn't make them any less important its the lounge whores, that he is talking about.

post counts are a VERY sensitive issue, the current system is fine for now.
