Hey everybody.

My girlfriends birthday is coming up Sept 7th, and I'm looking to get her a laptop. I really don't know anything about pricing, best brands, features, etc these days, let alone what price to be expecting.

My price range is about $400 - would it be too much to try and find a dual core with a couple gigs of ram and a built in webcam? Also, is something like an LED screen essential, or would LCD be just fine?

Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks a bunch guys :)!

Have you checked at HP online store? They have 25% bing cashback going on. So you can get a good system there

First place I looked:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=259069&t=659092

Outlet Dells have the EXACT same warranty as new Dells and you can save a considerable amount. There's 15% off coupons, sometimes 20-25% off coupons (rare).

My XPS M1530 was $727 shipped with the following:
Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHZ
3gb DDR2 Ram
320 GB hard drive
Nvidia 8400M GS with 128 dedicated
Webcam with mic
Bluetooth
Wireless N
Fingerprint reader
2-year warranty

The price after discounts and coupons was $540 before the warranty and tax. That was almost 1 year ago. You can't even find a deal like that in stores and Sunday ads today!

Also, here's a 15% coupon I won't post in the coupons thread just for you:
