I have been a long time lurker here, first or second post though.

I am looking for a laptop to do a bit of gaming on in between classes so I would like decent dedicated video. I have between 5-600 to spend. I would prefer to stay away from some of the shoddier brands unless they come with good warrantys.

I really like Lenovo. The only dedicated video in my price range I found was a nvidia 9300, so I guess maybe I am lookinf for something a bit better than that?

I'm looking at the Lenovo Y550 (using familyandfriends code) and it's pretty good for the price. The customization I did comes out to $594.76 before tax and shipping.

Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic 32
nVidia Geforce G 130M graphic card with 512MB memory

2x1 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz SODIMM Memory
250GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
SuperMulti DVD Recordable (Tray type)
Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150 (AGN)

Go to lenovo.com/cpp and the password to get in is 'familyandfriends'.

The video card im getting is different than the one listed above =/

Intel GMA 4500M UMA graphic card vs nVidia Geforce G 130M graphic card with 512MB memory

Which one is better? I only am familiar with desktop video cards (both ATI and nVidia)

Is there like a conversion table?

Yeah, Intel converts to crap when it comes to video cards.

All their integrated stuff is really bad compared to almost any dedicated card.

The G130 wipes the floor with the 4500 like the Steelers would wipe the floor with a bunch of 4th graders in a football game.

They have those? It's not usually a dedicated card if it's an "M" or that odd of a number. It's likely an integrated card that has up to 319MB of video memory.
