Hi Slickdealers!

Hopefully I can get some help with this. I have been looking for something to get my best man, and 4 groomsmen for my wedding. I really like the idea of getting them nice watches, with the hopes that its something they will actually use and not end up in a drawer. I also will need to get one for both fathers bringing the total to 7 watches. So as you can see this is getting expensive. I have been looking at Seikos and Citizen because I know they are good brands. I would really like to get in under $80 a piece, although I know for a good watch that may be hard. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Tony

Casio has good value under $80. Amazon would be a great place to start. Might also check Fossil watches at Amazon. Relic watches are made by Fossil and are sold at JC Penny if you want to go touch them b4 you buy---Right now they are 25% off at JCP. They have a Japanese movt and seem to be well built. Good Luck! and congrats on the wedding.

Yugster.com always has Daily Watch Deals, and Woot.com often has them as side deals ...one is going on right now. You just have to look on the right side of the woot page to the link.

Generally both have pretty decent watches, and occassionally some high end models at pretty decent prices.

Hope this helps.

Ive been looking around at the Seikos. My watch , I dropped it on a hard surface and one of the hour markers fell off so I was looking for a replacement since I know the cost of labor would probably not make it worthwhile to repair eventhough all they have to do is glue or mash the hour marker thats floating around the face back on. The watch isnt that expensive to begin with.

Anyway, I checked Amazon and they usually do have good prices but the big sale was in the past and a lot of the watches there I liked didnt have free shipping.

I finally got one on Ebay. And yes I was worried that it might be counterfeit. There are all kinds of sites on the net that hawk mountains of Seikos, Rolex and every other make that are counterfeited so that had me worried.

They had several Seiko models substantially cheaper than Amazon and one guy even had free shipping to Hawaii.

Unfortunately youll end up getting 7 different watches though since a lot of the Amazon and Ebay sellers only have like 1-3 watches of a specific model.

This is one I saw that was unusually cheap on Amazon and even cheaper on Ebay.

85 bucks

Its a perpetual calendar watch which was going for a fair amount when I looked at them a year or more ago. Now several of the models which they may be phasing out seem dirt cheap. There are still various models going for 200-300 but similar ones to his type which was selling for 150-200 are now 85-130. This is the cheapest of the bunch. The thing I didnt like about it is I generally dont like fake gold looking watches and Im paranoid the gold will wear off and it will look like hell in a few years.

I saw this same watch on Ebay for something like 69 bucks. I ended up getting one that was similar but not gold.
