Hello, all.
I have inlaws that I am the default IS support for. They have a color inkjet all in one, which is convenient for them because they can make copies of the crossword puzzle and then both do the crossword. They also like to print out coupons before shopping. Their level of technological sophistication is on par with the apes in 2001 at the obelisk.

The problem is that ink for their AIO is horribly expensive. My first thought was to get a color laser printer. They could scan with their old AIO to a pdf, then print the pdf. Unfortunately this exceeds their ability to interface with technology. My second thought was to get them a b/w AIO laser, but they are concerned that if they don't print their coupons in color they will not work. My third option was to get a color laser AIO, but they're all expensive.

TL/DR, looking for an inexpensive color laser AIO for a technophobe with a mac.

Thanks
Mike

First of all, have them show you some coupons they've printed out. Some of them say right on them "this coupon may appear in color or black and white". The ones that don't say that will have something about a dot pattern or a special code appearing. They realize a lot of people don't have color printers, so no one is going to force anyone to print in color. I even had one store tell me NOT to use color, because it blurs the bar codes and makes them harder to scan.
That should save you some money. Tell them a SlickDealer coupon queen gave you the OK. ;)

Do you have inlaws and have you ever tried negotiating with them? I've been down that road. They want one-button color copies without ink in a printer. Its their money, I'm just trying to save them a little bit.

Thanks
Mike
