I'm thinking Dell for this but maybe you guys could help finding the best deal for the buck:

It's for a friend of mine. He's not picky or a gamer. Just average good Work/School PC. He wants to be on a price around $550/600 out of the door (delivered). It would be nice to have a 20" monitor and a decent warranty.

Thanks for your help!

How about this one

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=brcwb0p&cs=04&dgvcode=ss&c=US&l=EN&dgc=BF&cid=7420&lid=197374&acd=10549103-1260291-

He can upgrade the Windows Vista to Home Premium and he will then get Windows 7 free when it is out

The system is only shipping 10 days late if ordered today...How's Dell about shipping these?

Also, the Monitor included is showing as a 19"..

I see what you mean on the monitor. This seems to be a nice system and he should upgrade the OS and the Memory right?

Thanks again!

Upgrade OS through Dell but memory yourself

You can easily get a 2GB kit for less outside

while making the system, a bit OT but I saw something funny. Look at the pricing on that 1TB. Overpricing at its best.

Not true. http://www.dell.com/windows7smb Dell Business machines require Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows Vista Business or Windows XP downgrade purchased with Windows Vista to get the free Win7 upgrade. Windows Vista Home Premium does not qualify for Dell Business machines .
