Color isn't too important but if i had a choice i would go with blue. Thanks ;)

I finally took a look at the ZR1 today at samys camera. Its great. Much smaller than the ZS3 so i think im going to be very happy with it. Definitely a camera you can carry around comfortably.
I just placed an order for the BLUE from amazon.com. IMO, the Blue and Red are the nicest looking colors :) There is a 5% discount code you can enter during checkout (3833XN9L). Other qualifying cameras can be viewed with this link.

Blue was $255 and came out to $242 after the 5% discount.
Silver and Black are cheaper. I believe they currently start at $239.
Red is most expensive at $263

i bought it when it was MSRP of $280 on amazon but returned it because I wasnt happy with low light performance. then i was glutton for punishment and ordered a zs3 for $293 from some where else knowing very well the image quality is probably similar. oh well, larger size is fine with me. it goes in the same bag as the DSLR

Hey johnny0 thanks for your reply and PM. Its a tough decision and the ZS3 was the original camera i wanted for the last couple months. We'll see how i feel when it comes in. Here's why i eventually went with ZR1...
- I'm just a casual user.
- A comfortable pocket size cam ended up being the most practical and important benefit for me. The ZS3 ended up being too big.
- HD movie recording in a compact still has a long way to go. I think this camera will last me 2 years so im expecting much improved software and compression by then. I dont ever make videos but i would like to learn soon. Missing out on AVCHD is probably the biggest disappointment.
- And finally, the ZR1 is probably the most complete pocket-size camera out there. I can't believe it comes with 8x zoom and 25mm wide angle at this size. I couldn't find anything else with these quality or features in a pocket cam :)
I also came from a Canon SD700 which i loved. It only had 3x zoom and no wide-angle. But it was a classic and took great pics. I actually sold it for $195 a month ago. The ZR1 will be a huge upgrade for me :)
