It got pushed to me almost a week ago maybe.
OTA update.

Ill see if they have another update out and try and get it going again.
I got the ICS on my Transformer probably 2-3 weeks ago. It was well before the Tourney started, so more than 2 weeks ago.

Knock on wood, no issues so far.

Yes, each ticket is good for 2 games. We had MSU v. Long Island - Jamaica and Memphis v. St. Louis. The Memphis/SLU game was really close, really good game; so it was a pretty neat added bonus. But, it does suck that the games are at a neutral site and most tickets are NOT sold to/through specific universities. There were 60% of the people in the stadium wearing Ohio State stuff, sitting on their hands. But, there were still a ton of MSU people for the second game and it got 'OK' loud. Nothing like the B1G FB championship game in Indy vs. Wisconsin...that was packed with fans for those 2 specific teams and was LOUD!

So ive been feeling nostaligic and went out a bought an original gameboy w/box the other day.
Well that made me want to go out and buy some old gameboy games i used to play (mostly just the game Golf haha).

Then I didnt want to mess up the old gameboy so I just found a cheap gameboy color with games on craigslist. Then I saw that people can mod gameboy colors to take the gameboy SP front lit screen! So I found a cheap gameboy SP lot on craigslist with games as well. haha im stupid.

Well I did happen to get a couple of games that are fairly valuable I guess. Pokemon crystal (I know nothing about pokemon games) but apparently it sells for 30+ on ebay. And I got mario advance 1-4 which also sell for 60+ on ebay.

Now Im just going to keep the SP and sell of the gameboy color and games to get all my money back. I'll keep the original gameboy in box and just leave it in the closet. I think Im out 100 bucks total in my gameboy fiasco,, which I should be able to get back when I sell the extra units/games I've collected along the way.

my gray brick ended up dying due to a battery leak or something from sitting idle for too long. my brother had a gameboy color, I then had an advance and traded up for an sp. That is the extent of my nintendo handhelds.

Funny thing is the only handheld I still have is my neo geo pocket color with sonic and samurai showdown 2. Still works perfectly. I will admit that was a poor investment on my part as I am pretty sure they only sold 8 games stateside when I purchased it.

When I had it they changed their policy to not let you cancel online. You had to send them a certified letter or they'd charge you after the promo ended.

Haha i felt the vtec, his accord is the v6 coupe 6spd so fairly quick. Dont worry any damage to that engine would have already been done by him haha. Luckily he is a pretty skilled mechanic, although he specializes in restoring mustangs and motorcycles

And YES never buy a used car from my dad, he drives like a mad man regularly.

I think I am going to buy a 3600 mAh battery for weekends we go away (Current is 1500, so I would have no problems using the phone for navigation an entire day or going multiple days with typical usage...might be a little over kill but whatevs.). Lots of android phones batteries are interechangable. My Mytouch 4g Slide has an HTC Sensation battery, larger capacity yet same physical dimensions..

Yea, I think my Samsung's battery is used in a bunch...but the bigger 1800 mAh battery would only add 17%, which would maybe be another hour of usage. Just getting the 3500 mAh would give me well over double...which would rate me for 12 hrs of usage time, haha.

I am just looking to get a couple more hours out of my phone when we go on Vacation / to a Tigers Game. I am using my phone for all sorts of stuff, a Map, Guide, Camera, Texting...and it drains it down pretty good. With the bigger battery...I am only giving MYSELF extra juice (your device would allow the juice to me OR my wife) but with a much bigger hassle / clumsy item in my pocket.

Also, the thought of actually using a GPS app to track each golf shot is VERY tempting, but it will burn through juice like nobody's business.

I did not know the razr maxx had one that big, that is awesome! Most Samsung's are rocking something 1500 to 1800. When we go out, vacations or whatever, most of the time is spent on foot. Same when we go to ball games, we'll get there maybe 6 hours before the game, 2 hr game, plus 2 hrs after. Use the phone to get around town / find new places to drink or eat. Currently I can make it the whole day, but I have to turn on Battery Saver when we leave the house. I'd like to just not worry about it, and thus why I am looking at getting one.

Haha, na, it is more similar to a tailgate approach...some people tailgate at their car for baseball games (those are normally the people that have the whole spot/routine from going to Lions games as the stadiums are right next to each other)...but we just head into the city to find something.

You get 100 yards away from the stadium and instantly beer prices go from $10 each to $4, haha. We always stay at my BIL's when we go up...the stadium is about 30 miles / 45 minutes from his house. I'd say couch to seat would take us 1 hr if needed.

Admittedly, I haven't gotten around to putting a custom ROM on my old one, but with official ROMs, it's slow as fark and has crappy battery life. Now, my friend, you might be thinking "well, if it's a bargain, I can deal with slow and poor battery performance". And while you might think that now, you'd be wrong. I won't go as far as dead wrong, but wrong nevertheless. When you can dial four out of seven numbers before the first tone sounds, that's bad. When it's on the second ring before caller ID actually kicks in, that's bad.
But the good news is this--I will STAND BY my offer of free face-punching even if you DO decide to get one! I'll even throw in a couple knees to the groin.

I am hoping to get something with Wifi, so I can periodically check e-mail/calendar around the house or at a friend's house. Also was hoping to get a couple basic games to use on it - Words with Friends or whatever, but nothing really graphically intense. I also have 100MB free per month, so data would be off 95% of the time. It would be handy to Google something every once in a while though.

The more I look at it, the more I like the Droid 2...

Based on more reviews I have read around...and what used to be just "Moto" phones in my mind, things are getting better for the A-list phones they put out. The 'Droid' line, I have heard always ran well when they were top dog, but the updates on them just never come or kill the phone.

I don't think those top tier Android phones are going anywhere...they are cheap to make (software wise) so more profits!

But, that said...a brand new, top of the line phone for 50% or 66% less then most competitors ($100)? Plus, it doesn't just come in black? The new Nokia isn't a stat-sheet stuffer or light years ahead of the hardware that is releasing now, but it will not disappoint.

Yes, currently in the US, Samsung has about 34% (mostly original Samsung Focus that is ~1.5 years old) and HTC has about 50% (Most of that being the different carriers Gen 1 phones) (rough numbers from an app)

The gnex is pretty nice. Although my sister has the Verizon one and said she it drops calls randomly when she's just sitting in her living room. I've only had my phone a few months but I haven't dropped a single call.

Build quality? In my experience the build quality hasn't been an issue, its been a lack of memory and slow processor. But the newer phones have addressed that and this one in particular is excellent in my opinion. I did consider getting a rezound but decided against it once I could get this at a decent price.

Outside certain areas where phones aren't permitted, there are itty-bitty keyed lockers, kinda like post office boxes. Some of the new 4.3" phones barely fit, so the Note definitely wouldn't.

Can you take in your Gameboy at least? My BIL had an iPod break in his car once...but he was actually in the car also, driving. (Convertible Mustang, iPod was on the dash, plugged in, listening through the AUX; he was hot weather testing for Ford.)

i sold an item for $96.00, they billed me $8.64 for the auction, then another $1.17 on Shipping (i charged $13.00 to ship it)
so they take 9% of the total final value, $9.81

Paypal took $3.46, so total ebay took 13.27 which is a little more than 12%.

I haven't sold on ebay in over a year, after these fees, im gonna go back to selling shit on forums lol

I am curious why you think this. This phone is pretty sweet IMO. Haven't had any issues to speak of and the battery life is fantastic. I considered other phones but not being tied to a charging cable all the time was a huge plus to me.

actually my opinion on WP is based on playing around with the trophy and not finding it very impressive
also i dont' like the UI, Metro blows and if the rumors that Windows 8 will deploy only metro UI, i will be sticking with Windows 7 for the foreseeable future.

But honestly i rag on WP because i know it annoys Curtie lol.

Agreed. I understand lemons occur, but it wasn't just my phone I saw it occur with. My girlfriend of the time had a Razr and experienced many of the same problems I did.

The phone was right around a year old when it really started going downhill.

I'm glad to hear the are built solidly now. I'd still be somewhat hesitant (maybe undfoundedly) to carry another one though.

As far as Metro goes, haven't tried out the consumer preview of Win 8, as I'm a linux user anyway, so I can't say much in that regard. However, I find myself liking WP7 better than iOS in many aspects.

I did like that mine had a metal backing, but it was still flimsy and people would complain CONSTANTLY about the noise the phone made if you held it up to your face (it had a sensitive mic). You had to hold it so that you could still hear it without making contact with your head...very annoying.

The Nokia held up the best for how new all that Tech was (my 2002-era phone)...but my current Samsung is showing age (lack of) better than anything I have had before.

the g1 was a good phone it was just underpowered and short on ram.. what i dont like about HTC is that they stick with old hardware and tech long after other manufacturers have update to the current hardware and processors... they usually just change out 1 feature and rebadge old hardware and try to sell it at the same price point as other phones that have 1 or 2 generations newer hardware inside..


pretty soon i think i'm going to sell my personal droid bionic and my asus transformer and pick up one of the new samsung journals(rebadged samsung note for verizon).. i really dont use my tablet enough to justify it and my personal phone is more for internet than anything else so the journal would be great..

when i use mine its been great.. but the only time i use it anymore is when i stay overnight somewhere or go on extended travel to watch some videos.. i use my 2nd phone more than i use my transformer.. if you know anyone that would like a 16 gig transformer with the keyboard, case and extra screen protectors let me know.. i need to sell it soon before it drops in value much more

Having another data plan sounds like a bad option to me... why not tether your phone and tablet? Unless you get a huge phone and give up the tablet altogether.

Went to the AT&T store last night to check out the new 900. That thing is pretty nice, incredibly solid.

Anyway, we are 2 months from the end of our contracts, but the lady told me for only $250, that we could early upgrade...plus, if we did it that day she would throw in $100 of accessories, which, since you were going to have to buy them already it was like a discount, and that means it would only be $50 extra on the price of the phone.

I just stopped arguing, told her the extra money wasn't worth not waiting 2 months and left that at that. :facepalm:

She said she would wave the $36 activation fee (normally $18 for existing lines, $36 for new lines)....BUT, to the point of the story. I told a guy about this at work today and he said Verizon doesn't every do anything like that. Is AT&T really the only one that charges an Activation fee? Granted, it gets waved unless I buy online, but it left me curious.

i actually pay for the service so i've tried the built in one, and tether for root.. tether for root did a little better but i had to restart it so many times i just got frustrated with it and had my company buy me a 4g hotspot..

4g hotspot is limited to 2 gigs.. my data plan is unlimited and i wanted to be able to stream netflix on road.. an hour of netflix is about 300mb.. right now i just drop my sim card into the 4g hotspot when i'm doing something data intensive so the work one wont go way over..

i know i had some problems with my charge to get the 4G LTE to connect
i could connect for 3G speeds, but needed to wait for wifi tether to update to support 4G LTE

Yeah I knew what you meant and I'm telling you it's not an ad hoc signal. Example: my tablet couldn't pick up the wifi from my droid 1 running wifi tether for root users because it was an ad hoc signal. desrtrnnr's bionic and my razr can run this app (foxfi) that doesn't use an ad hoc signal. My tablet, computer and any other device I've tried sees and can use the signal. My tablet is not rooted and I have skyped using my phone's wifi. I haven't tried the psp but I might do that now just to confirm...

Edit: psp sees it too but doesn't support WPA2

wrong 7.62.. your thinking 7.62x39mm.. that is what an AK shoots.. a mini gun shoots a 7.62x51mm nato round.. which is the same as a .308 winchester and at current surplus prices is about $300 per 500 rounds
