I have made 3 trips to HyVee this week and bought 3 Kelloggs each time and no cat. Anyone else experince this? Since it is not in the ad any ideas? Maybe it would help tp print out the cat promo list from the website and bring to customer service? Or would it work to call the Catalina co like we do with Wags?
Any suggestions? TIA!
I've tried to do this deal twice now...FAIL! First store ga ve RC for milk. Just now got done @ 2nd store. Pulled out my Evo & HyVee's siteno longer lists the cat deal fo Kellogg's. Ya know what?!...HyVee is going to get a nice worded email from me as their last cat promo for Skillets & now this previously advertised (as of last night) Kelloggs deal did not print/give cat worth the value advertised. Bait and switch asshats! :annoyed:

I noticed in the ad today the Tidy Cats non-scoopable litter is $1 for 10 lb bags.
There is a $1/1 coupon in the 9/11 RP. I just checked my inserts and looks like I used all the ones I had already.

Bleh, my MIL told me she tried that one a few days ago and no CAT here either. Ridiculous.

Was just coming here with this info! Just read that my local shelf-clearer already cleared out 40 bags, hopefully there will be some left when my q's come, we do have a lot of stores here - and if not the mq is good for awhile I think. Half-hoping I can get some rainchecks :) Looks like that might be a possibility
We started using this cat litter one of the last couple times they had this deal and really like it. My dh had always insisted upon the clumping type litter WITH carbon or whatever in it....and I believed him  Then when it was free I decided we had to try it since it was so much cheaper and I think it does as good if not better of a job than the other :dontknow: So that's what we buy now. We only have 1 cat.

Last time I bought it, they were those instant oatmeal packets in Cinnamon Roll, Maple & Brown Sugar, Apple Cinnamon, etc.
Has anyone found the Fresh Express salad at Hy-Vee (or elsewhere)? My free salad coupon from Vocal Point expires at the end of this month.

Not 100% sure, but I don't think we sell Fresh Express at my Hy-Vee, at least. Target switched from Dole to Fresh Express (at least around here)...so might have luck there!

YEAH!! :woot: I was starting to feel like I was the only one who would ever see them. (I haven't seen any here for about 4 weeks or so.)
I used a bunch of them last week when the boneless rump roasts were on sale for $2.99 lb. I think the coupon is probably meant to be used on the prepackaged "Always Tender" marinated pork loins and oven ready packages..(or Natural Choice Brand)... but, since the beef and pork are branded "Always Tender", I had no issue getting the cashier to push it through. Each roast was 2+ pounds, so I wasn't walking out with free meat... but, a GREAT price to stock up with.
And... in case you wanted to use them on lunch meat. They go through without a beep on the "Natural Choice" meat packages. (ours are under $3, but they auto down.) I only used 2 of them on that though.

I am not sure if everyone is aware by now.... but Facebook still has a Digiorno $2 coupon available.
Go to http://www.facebook.com/#!/digiorno?sk=wall
and, click on the "ditch delivery Coupon" on the left hand side. (You have to fill in a couple of words, and then it will give you the option to print the coupon. ) Many people report problems of printing, but it is a Bricks coupon, so... it is the normal issues there, I think.
So.... in the current ad that is running the Digiorno for "one" size are on sale for $2.75, so for 75 cents a piece it is a very nice deal.
(it allows for printing "2" per computer.)

Just came back from HyVee. Bernatello's pizza (http://www.bernatellos.com/brands/bernatellos/pizzas)and garlic cheese bread were on sale for 3 for $9.99 (had a printed logo'd sign with tearpads on them) The tearpad coupon is a $5 rebate when purchasing 3. (I think I gained weight just looking at the garlic cheese bread. )
When I went back to grab a few more 6 packs of 7-up products, I saw the coke 24oz 6 packs were on sale for 4/$10. The sign showed it was part of a 3 day sale ending on 10/11. I must have missed the actual ad, because I haven't seen it, so I do not know what else was included.

Found one more yesterday. Need to check the new add to see what Hormel Pork is on sale this week. I wish we had rolls of these coupons. I remember a year or 2 ago there was a $1 off pork from the Pork council. I got lots of free or cheap chops out of the meat case. They were $1 or $1.25 each. Yum! Those were tearpads and very nice.

When I first started seeing them, they were on about 50% of the fresh cut pork packages. I didn't take as many as I would have liked, and now I am kicking myself for not taking more. I am still not sure if the meat dept puts those type of stickers on, or if they get some of that meat shipped in prepackaged, and the stickers are placed on at Hormel. I didn't ever try them on the meat in the fresh meat case... without the "always tender" label, I was too chicken to try it. (even though, i know many of the cuts of meat in that case is the correct brand.)
I just looked again yesterday, and the coupons seem to be long gone here. This summer, I was at a friends rummage sale, and a lady that stopped to shop, stood and talked for about 15 minutes, and one of the very last things she said to me was that she worked in the HyVee meat dept. Had she told me that early on, I would have worked up my nerve to ask about the coupons....ha! If I could have gotten a "roll".... I would have probably needed to buy another freezer!

The ones I used on the fresh meat case were for ANY fresh pork product so very legit. These I would not try it on. I actually work with a guy from the meat department but haven't seen him since finding them. I did look all over for the roll on top of the case or something :D
It would be to their advantage for them to put them out though since they are MQs they would get reimbursed and I would buy my pork there instead of Fareway where I usually do.

I agree 100%! I actually used almost all of mine on beef. I did pretty well finding some "near end" dated steaks that were slightly over $3 a package, and used the rest on roasts, and a few on the lunch meat.

Curious if this is standard ... or, if this was just an error today.
I bought a couple of packages of meat today that were priced at $2.88 a pound. They were packaged as 2 + pound packages. Once I paid for them, I decided to take them back to the meat department and have them taken out of the plastic trays, and have them put in freezer wrap. The guy in the meat department was super friendly, and put the meat on the scale, weighed it, wrapped it and used the sticker that printed. Now... in the past, the sticker a lot of the time isn't relevant to the meat I purchased, it was just used as "tape". But, today, he said.... "I will get the weight, price and name for you on the packages."
When I got to my car, I looked at the packages, and the meat prices differed by almost $1 each. So...... in the future, I will definitely have all of my meat rewrapped at the meat counter BEFORE I buy it, if we pay for the weight of the packaging. I am thinking some of the weight may be the moisture that comes out of the meat and goes into that styrofoam/paper thingy under the meat, but...I still wouldn't exect this to weigh 1/3 of a pound.
Just sharing...... in case I was the only one unaware of this for all of these years. Plus, the meat keeps for me so much better in the freezer wrap, and not the stinky plastic. I simply have been paying first... and, carting back afterwards. Lesson learned!

sorry I am clogging the HV thread with this, but there's not a SS thread and this is the easiest way to reach the folks who have a SS nearby!!! We don't mind at all. You aren't gonna hear any "wrong store" "off topic" screaming here. I don't have that store, but we appreciate a heads up on things in our area. We often post Fareway deals here too since many people with a HyVee also have a Fareway nearby.
I simply have been paying first... and, carting back afterwards. Lesson learned!I never thought about but you are probably right about some of the weight being water. (yes, let's just call it water...) I hate those big trays too. I don't get it. Meat used to come on little, flat styrofoam trays with plastic wrap. Now with all this recycle, don't waste hullabaloo they have switched to giant plastic containers. I don't get it. Yeah, I understand that styrofoam is supposed to be this horrible evil substance but why don't they make little plastic trays just like those used to be?
These damn things are full of air, you have to rewrap (more waste) unless you want your meat freezer burned and if you didn't they take up to damn much space.
Now, you've got me thinking, it just never occurred to me to have them rewrap it for me. I have them slice cheese and I have had them split a roast and wrap in two packages. But to just have it all rewrapped... never occurred. I think you may be my new hero.:D

Usually those amounts are pre-coupon. You could also always ask your store or send your listmaker a note. Personally, I would check your ad to see if it says something about being after coupons, but like a said...most are pre-coupons. So, youd be going off of the sale price. Does that make sense?

People with a Fareway --- they have Fareway brand fruit 15 oz. cans (peaches, pears, apricots, or mixed) in their ad 2 for $1.
Wal-Mart will price match using Great Value and they have a few different varieties of mixed rather than just fruit cocktail. They also have sliced pears instead of just pear halves.

I don't like shopping at walmart, but sometimes it is easier! They have a for a long time but yesterday was the first time I have ever done it. (WM is an hour away, don't shop there much) When I sort of asked as I was loading my stuff on the belt she didn't bat an eye and the fruit was all very obviously Great Value brand. (I had some other name brand price matches too.)
I just now went to the website and read the ad match policy (http://walmartstores.com/10563.aspx) and it actually states that they don't match store brands anymore. Ok, now I feel pretty stupid.
Sorry about the bad information. I shall just slink off quietly...:O

At our Hy-vee in Lawrence (6th street) they had a couple cereals for $.99 after the $4 store coupon
cheerios
honey nut cheerios
multigrain cheerios
boo berries
franken berries
count chocula
cinnamon toast crunch
I had $.50 IPs for HN Cheerios, and the berries, and CTC made them .50 each, not getting paid but I love HN Cheerios!!

Found Dr. Pepper Ten 2 liters for 59¢ today (part of the Saturday One Day ONLY Sale) with 55¢ off hangtag coupons on them. 4¢ a piece. I bought 8 and paid $1.05 with tax & deposit.
Sun Drop 2 liters had $1 off 2 coupons on them, also part of the 59¢ deal, which would've made them 9¢ each.

Yes, you buy any $10 worth of Kraft items shown on that page (includes cool whip) and you will get a $5 coupon good towards your next shopping order. Rolling means that i bought $10 worth, it printed a $5 coupon and i then used that $5 coupon on my next order of $10 worth of Kraft items and it printed ANOTHER $5 coupon ;) Hope that helps!

Kraft is decent....wish some of the prices were better though :( Hy-Vee doesn't seem to run much on "sale" anymore when they promote a cat offer like this, sadly. $2.69 is their regular "red hot" price for shredded cheese...$2 for crackers, eh, just OK. $1.25 for cream cheese is decent. Not really a ton out right now for q's that I could find.
We were in need of the singles though...one of my few things we are fairly brand-loyal to...have tried others and they just don't taste/melt the same. So the $1.99 price combined with the cat was decent. Nice that they have the cool whip and cream cheese to get to the $10 if you're just a little bit shy.

Thank you for pointing that out. I have been trying to put together a good trip to Target, but maybe with some of the coupons on these links, it will be a better deal at HyVee with the $5 off deal.
When using the Bacon coupon, this could be a good deal. (I have no idea if the $10 required spend is off the selling price, or the "after coupon" price.)

and:

I am not sure if HyVee will take these manufacturer coupons, but I may give it a try. There are so many combinations of coupons out there, that I am not sure what really can be used together. (For instance, if using the $10 off a Turkey when buying 12 items,... not sure if I can use coupons off of those individual items... i.e. the bacon, for instance. )

The $3/2 bacon coupon would make a nice deal:
Buy 2 Oscar mayer bacon at $3.99 each (ouch!)=$7.98
buy 1 Kraft cheese at $2.69 (who comes up with these insane prices??)=$10.67 total
Use $3/2 Q=$7.67 and get $5 cat=$2.67 for 2 bacon and bag of cheese or .89 each
Stock up price for me--we never have good bacon sales here!
OR....you could use the $10 off a turkey when you buy 12 participating Kraft products
Buy 12 of the Jello pudding or jello (they are listed on the coupon).67 each=$8.04

I also like the buy $25 worth of participating products, get free turkey deal. I have to buy a turkey this week anyway, so i might as well get a deal on my cooking soups for the year with it. lol
I might do this:
Buy 40 Campbell's cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups (3/$2 or .67 each)
total=$26.80
Use 8)$1/5 Campbell's soup insert Q's=$18.80
Get free turkey
Not a great deal, but not a bad price and i need all the products
OR...
If you are lucky enough to find the little coupon booklets by the Campbell's soups, they have $1/4 campbell's soup q's so total would be $16.80 for 40 soups and a turkey

I am kinda kicking myself for buying the Cure 81 ham/Free Turkey now.....(although, we do eat that type ham, so no loss). I am just itching to try a few of the other scenarios, ..... but, one thing I am positive of, is that I do not have room to freeze a couple of turkeys. ha!
Can anyone verify that the $5 catalina will print, AFTER using coupons on the products, and the total being reduced to under the $10? (for example, the bacon scenario?) TIA!

I can confirm that it did print after I bought 9 cream cheese and used (3) $1.25/3 coupons, which brought me below $10. However, it didn't print when I bought 15 various pudding mixes and used (5) $1.25/3 coupons. Not sure if certain flavors aren't programmed in, but they gave me a Hy-Vee coupon for $5 off my next purchase.

Thought I would post a few deal scenarios that I purchased:
Purchased:
10 Jello Puddings $6.66
2 Wheat Thins $4.00
1 HoneySuckle Frozen Turkey Breast $12.01 (This was $1.69 a pound. Better deal may be the HyVee 10 pound turkeys at $1.09 a pound. But, since they let me use coupon on the Breast, I decided to get it.)
For Coupons I used:
-$1.00 Cracker coupon from HERE (http://www.coudyjubilee.com/pdf/weeklyflier.pdf) or here (http://celebrate.festivalfoods.net/images/ff/2011-11-16/coupons.pdf) for longer expiration.
- $10.00 Turkey coupon from HERE (http://www.coudyjubilee.com/pdf/weeklyflier.pdf)
Total $11.67 - $5 off next order, due to purchase of $10 Kraft items
Net: $6.67 after all discounts.
Since I do not have room for more Turkeys, I wont be doing this more than once, but I may be tempted to try the Butterball frozen turkey breasts. (Those are $10.99 each). But, since they are tiny, they really are not the better deal.
In a separate trip, I purchased:
2 bacon (Coupon HERE (http://www.coudyjubilee.com/pdf/weeklyflier.pdf)) and 1 Kraft Mayo, using coupon from HERE (http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=14703&zid=us85&nid=20)
$3.99 +$3.99 +$2.49- $3.00 -$1.00= $6.47
- $5 Next Order coupon
$1.47 NET
The possibilities with the Bacon coupon seem VERY good.
Also: "I believe its not Butter Sticks" are on sale for $1.99. Coupon on coupon.com is $1.50 off ONE. So, 50 cents a pound seems like a good deal. I haven't used it before, but I figure I can use it for some sort of baking this Christmas.

I haven't seen any ad like that in our region either. I am guessing this may just be a store-specific sale. We have a lot of those sale flyers around here and they are only good at several area stores in the immediate vicinity. Usually our ads will have printed on them something to the effect of, "prices only valid at Cedar Rapids and Marion, IA stores" or similar.

I'm mobile and tries to find something on FB but search is the suck when mobile. Of course when I asked my 16 to for more details she said IDK but a nearby cashier was aware of it and they didnt even need a printed coupon as the other cashier handed her a paper with a barcode and $5.99 came off. Our Marion store does this on occasion - they are called Facebook Frenzy deals, just for that particular store. They haven't had one in quite awhile though, sadly. There is another area store or two that will sometimes post a random deal to Facebook in their status - usually when they are trying to get rid of something it seems like. It's been hit or miss. Definitely a good idea to "like" your local stores on FB though and see.

CouponNetwork lists a deal for "save $10 in future savings when you buy $100 in participating gift cards" and Hy Vee is listed as the retailer. I can't print it now as I'm at work. Any idea what the participating gc's are? And can anybody post what the end date of the promo is?

Cracker Barrel, AMC theaters, iTunes, Lowes, Bass Pro, Spa Finder, one I can't read, and it looks like, ah, maybe, MasterCard!! Woot. If mastercard is included (which it looks like it is) we can do this:
Buy $100 mastercard $100 + $4.95 activation fee get back $10 oyno
Then buy $100 mastercard, pay with previous get back $10 oyno
So a $5 money maker each time.
Do it 10 times, pay out $50 in Activation fees but have $100 in oyno's:woot:
Wanted to add: if you are making a large purchase at Lowes (washer, refrigerator, etc.) Make sure you buy your cards seperately in incrememts of $100 so you will receive the oyno each time. If you buy a $500 gift card, you will only receive $10 oyno. If you make 5 trips thru and buy $100 at a time, you will receive $50 oyno. HTH

I printed the offer out now that I'm at home. It ends December 18th. Not sure you could pay for a $100 master card with the $100 mastercard you just got? But it does look like MC is included. The printout is so small that I think I saw them better on the web page. The one you couldn't read is Fandango. I will probably go to HV tomorrow and check it out.

Just got back from HV. The $100 Mastercard debit did work for the $10 oyno. The activation fee on that card is $5.95, so its a $4.05 mm. The cat machine jammed up as it was printing my $10, but I had told the cashier about it ahead of time and the manager had him give me a $10 HV gift card instead since the cat was ruined. I may need to do this once or twice more.

If anyone is interested in Old Orchard Cranberry Naturals, there is still a $2 coupon available on Hy-Vees Facebook page and you can also get a B1G1 coupon by going here: (http://oldorchardjuiceco.createsend2.com/t/ViewEmail/r/EDF1ADF5AD0872A8/912C90074B686AECA10BC276F201ED4B) I would post the direct link to the coupon I emailed myself, but I am thinking it may not work more than twice.

Not sure what they do about the old store, but new stores definitely run some awesome sales! Also, if you are on FB like the new store's page...my new store was running daily deals throughout all of January for FREE products! They are still running daily deals, but they are no longer freebies.

Does Hy-Vee have their deal where you buy a freezer and get a bunch of coupons once a year? And do they usually do it every year at about the same time? I searched back and looks like its around the first of March last year. Just found out we're getting a side of beef and I don't have enough room in the freezer.

Yeeeeah at least once, though last year I felt like it went on forever  Probably because the ad does last like a month...or until supplies run out and they don't seem to here. And I think you're right about it usually being March.

If you get desperate, check out Lowes. They tend to have fairly decent prices on the 7 Cu. Ft size. (bigger than the HyVee ones) Plus there is always the 10% off coupons that are readily available at the Post Office in the "Moving Kits".

ant fruit snacks coupons to go along with the deal?
Yes I had $.50/2 mq's from a past insert (not sure which one) that weren't expired....from the alphabetical listing (http://slickdeals.net/f/722144-Alphabetical-List-of-Unexpired-Newspaper-Coupons-updated-weekly?sduid=236741):
Betty Crocker Save $.50/2 Fruit Shapes, Fruit by the Foot, Fruit Gushers or Fruit Roll-Ups exp: 3/3/2012 GM 1/8/12
There are usually Betty Crocker fruit snack/shapes/etc. coupons on either the Betty Crocker website, Pilsbury website, coupons.com, etc....just depends on the month.

Make sure you check out the Online Ad entitled: "HealthMarket". (or just go to the "Coupon Savings" tab).
There is a Sparkling Ice beverage coupon which gets you Two for $1. (Limit of 2) They are usually $1 to $1.29 each. Not a huge deal, but I just love the sparkling grapefruit and the red raspberry ones. I haven't tried the others, so I probably like them as well.
I know the "HealthMarket" ad doesn't seem to apply to every store, so it may be a YMMV for some. There are some other coupons in it as well, like 79 cent carrots.
The ad runs thru 2/29, so you can get a couple each time you go.
Just an fyi....

Thanks! I think that would make sense....it was nearing this time last year when there was that big sale on Corn Flakes, etc....plus there was a "free milk wyb....(I think it was 3 cereals)" cat and the gas card rebates. Awesome deal, hope something like that pops up again...we still have Corn Flakes from the last time :teehee: I think it was either March or April last year it seems like?

I don't go into HyVee much as it is far away. I liked their produce sale this week. I picked up some starfruit, fresh coconut, kiwi fruit, and red peppers. The brussel sprouts were a good deal but they were super mega, jumbo size, so I passed.
The hunts spag sauce at .59 is a good buy, I think I need more and will pm at wm. Honestly I don't usually buy the brand but it's the same size as prego and ragu but come in a can.

I know the new store that my daughter works at has a limit of $6 for coupons & they need supervisor to key their code. She said they did this because they are all new employees with little or no grocery cashiering experience, therefore little to no experience handling coupons. Makes sense. My guess is that your store has something similar in place, however, their sucky threshold is beep on any. Weird...I'd be inclined to contact corporate and let them know how cumbersome the checkout process is when using a single coupon is. Is it the same when using a store coupon with a plu#?

That is a good idea. It does not beep for the store coupon if I remember corectly. I have a freind who's DH will NEVER return to that store. and then his wife had a bad experience too. rediculous! I am hoping it changes soon but I might call. Is the info in the wiki? I will check.

This week's ad looks like it has some decent deals. (lots of ads this time)
A few things that stick out to me that I will be stocking up on are:
KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce --$1
HyVee Grand Selections Olive Oil -- $3.29 (nice looking bottles, can be used for gift baskets as well as using yourself.)
Purina Products ($5 off of $30, and $5 coupon for next Purina purchase if over $50) This isn't great... but, I need cat food for the outdoor gals and their stray friends. :) This coupon is in the HyVee ad
The Freschetta pizza at $3.99 is a good price, but there is usually a coupon at the same time, but haven't found one yet.

Tidy Cats 10-lb. (the typical bags we usually see for cheap) are $1.00 this week again....$1/1 coupon from 1/29/12 RP makes them free (mq expires 4/29.) That will go well with the $5/$30 store q. The 40-lb. bags are $5 on sale too I think...if I can scrounge up 18 coupons I am going to do this....
(15) 10-lb. Tidy Cats...$15.00
(3) 40-lb. Tidy Cats...$15.00
=$30.00
-$18.00 mq's
-$5.00 store q
=$7.00 for 370 lbs. of litter :D
Then again, I may just get the free bags, be done with it, and not try to use the store q since I think we still have quite a bit from the last sale. Trying to make coupons stretch.
If you have even more of the Tidy Cats $1/1 (and your store has plenty of stock) you could get more free and utilize that $5/$30 better. This is probably the best I can do. Our stores here always have tons of stock. I usually pray that one runs out so I can get a raincheck

Lesson learned today......
First, I screwed up with giving some coupons that had the SAME number on them. (printer had stuck, reprinted, didn't realize it printed same one twice..... long story, but..... they let me know that HY-VEE is now going to be much stricter on coupons. It figures that they would decide to get serious on the one day I messed up. I was :O . I learned that in those situations, I should just shut up, because when explaining, I just got cold blank stare.)
2nd,..... I bought 10 Masterpiece BBQ sauce last week. (i didn't use any coupons. :P ) I must have bought them on 3/8th, instead of on the 9Th! DANG IT!!
Make sure you look at the Catalinas (http://www.hy-vee.com/helpful-ideas/catalina-national-offers-february-6-2012-may-13-2012.aspx) that are current and the ones that are upcoming.
Just an fyi.... Masterpiece BBQ sauce is a "Clorox" product. Today, I picked up 5 for a friend, using her rain check, and I received the $2.50 catalina. (it clearly looked at the regular price of the product, since they just did a manual deduction for the total raincheck value).
So... if you happen to have rainchecks for the BBQ sauce, purchase 4 at a time. (or whatever it takes to get to $9 at your store)
Looks like a good DeGiorno Catalina coming up, if you like those. Rumor has it there will be pretty large coupons out there for them as well. (they seem to promote their product during the Final Four tournament.)

Oh, one more thing. Is the $4 Kraft Cheese Catalina (http://www.couponnetwork.com/kraft-coupon/cyml0k)working at any of your stores? HyVee is listed as a participating store.....
 It's working at mine I think....
last tues. I bought 2 of the Philly Indulgence (had 2 $1.50 mqs to use up) and one pack of string cheese (found $1/1 blinkie machine next to the cheese) So...bought 3 Kraft items and had no idea there was a CAT going on and out pops a $2 CAT at checkout from Kraft. This had to have been what it was.
BTW, that white chocolate philly indulgence is :yummy: with apples dipped in it....it's more creamy than reg. cream cheese.

YMMV, of course, but we are having an "indoor tent sale" at the Columbus, NE location. Check out these ads............
Of course, if anyone has any Gevalia coffee $2/1 coupons from the 2/26 SS that they won't be using, and are close to Nebraska, I am begging for them!! We get crappy inserts here, just had an ad for Gevalia in our paper, no coupons

Fareway and today is the last day -- Paseo toilet paper is $3.99 for 12 double rolls. There is $1 IP (http://www.savingcentswithsense.net/2011/08/new-1-paseo-printable-coupon/) that will print three times.
If you haven't tried it, Paseo is softer than Angle Soft and has more square feet per roll that any other brand that I have checked. HyVee quite carrying it and I wasn't very happy!
(For those who are new to the thread and are wondering why I posted a Fareway deal in the HyVee thread it's because there is no Fareway thread and most people with a HyVee also have a Fareway so we post those deals here occasionally too. Let's face, the deals at HyVee and Fareway are few and far between even with both store we can't keep a thread busy!)

check smartsource.com....there were some $.75/1 multi-grain cheerios, $.50/1 Trix I think it was? and one specifically for Kix I think too.....
Also, I *think* I printed a $1/2 on the "kid's" type cereals off of coupons.com yesterday.
I just really miss when they would also run the cereals on sale during this promo :( Everything here is at least $2.99 (Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, etc.) Cheapest MG Cheerios was $3.49 at the store I checked yesterday. Bleh. We've been trying to eat healthier anyway so I'm really not in the market so much for many of the sugary ones. I may do the deal once and that will probably be about it.
ETA: I was just on the Box Tops for Education site (http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Coupons.aspx) and the same coupons as above are about $.10 better on their site so you might login/signup/check there too.

Today I realized the Hy-vees here mark down Holiday quite differently at each store. Prices vary quite a bit. The last store I was at, had a ton of candy left, and they had the Reeses Miniatures on the shelf yet.(These were the ones in the ad for B2G1) They were marked down to $2 a bag. The odd thing was, that they let you use the coupoon, and the coupon took off the original $3.99. The cashier is actually the one who let me know about it. So, I did get 2 sets of those, and decided to get out before I was tempted to get more. I had already purchased some similar mixed candy at a higher price in my last transaction, or I would have been tempted to get even more. Those are always usable in desserts, cookies, and ice cream. (and freeze nicely)

Mine seems a little slower too. I will have to always use I.E. to view it though, since when I use Firefox, it seems really out of whack. For instance when you view with "item view" it just has a single column of products, 7 to the page.
It seems a little messed up. I understand their reasoning, so people can see all of the items on sale, but I am a bit surprised as well that they changed the "add item" feature away from the Full page view. I bet if they receive a few comments asking for them to adjust that, they would do it.

Any of you check out the "special promotions" ad online at Hy-Vee? There is a P&G deal where you buy $40 and get back a $10 prepaid Visa via MIR. The fine print says the promotion is through June 30, 2012, but the sale on P&G products is only through May 8.
Yesterday, I bought $40+ worth of Tide, Downy, etc. There were no rebate forms at customer service. They insisted it would print out as a Catalina. Well, that did not happen. I'm waiting for a call back from Hy-Vee to see if they've figured it out.
Anyone else attempt the deal?

Under the weekly ad, click on the drop down menu to "special promotion ad". Make sure you are using "page view".
The store gave me a $10 Hy-Vee gift card, because they didn't know what to do. I contacted Catalina, who claimed the P&G promotion does exist but is not offered at any Hy-Vee store. I contacted Hy-Vee corporate and they didn't know how to get the rebate forms. It's all being looked into. So, until then....

This has happened to me twice in a row now..... I go buy a ton of Philadelphia Cream Cheese at Sam's Club, and the very next HyVee ad comes out where I can get 10 for $10.
Masterpiece BBQ sauce is $.98 again.... nice price.
Also, here are the Catalina National Offers: May 14, 2012 - August 5, 2012 (http://www.hy-vee.com/helpful-ideas/catalina-national-offers-may-14-2012-august-5-2012.aspx)
----------One that is catching my eye is the: "Oscar Mayer Cold cuts". Curious if the "shaved deli meat" from the ad (buy 10, get $5 off) happens to be coded as the cold cuts??
Update:
After looking at the Oscar Mayer Catalina on couponnetwork.com, (http://www.couponnetwork.com/oscar-mayer-coupon/0gahym) it looks like the $5 off 10 items and the catalina products are the same thing.
There is a $1 off coupon out there, from the Oscar Mayer Selects challenge, but not sure that is applicable here.
There is also a $1 off Oscar Mayer Delifresh on cookingwithkraft.com/savings (I haven't printed it yet, so ymmv)
So, it looks like both the $1 Oscar Mayer Bologna / Cotto Salami , and the $2.29 Delifresh products will work for the Catalina.

Has anyone verified that buying 5 of the cotto salami or bologna will generate the $4 off catalina?

Michelina's 10 for $5 - $1/5 IP (http://www.michelinas.com/SaveMoney.aspx) = 10 for $3 or 5 for $1.50 ($0.30 each wyb 5)
Xtra laundry detergent $2 - $1/2 (05-06-12 SS) = 2 for $3
I completely forgot the 10 for $10 Philadelphia Cream Cheese and intended to buy some.

So my daughter just told me that the HyVee that she works at price matches. News to me and she's worked there since Nov when they opened. I asked her how long that has been policy and she said, "like since foreeeeeeeeever!"
Well duh on me!
I'll have to keep a better eye on coupons & area ads when they run double coupons.

I've been shopping at Hy-Vee for 5 years and they've always price matched, At my location, the Hy-Vee does it wrong, and I've contacted corporate a couple of times but still no changes. For a price match or a raincheck, they scan the item then deduct the savings. So, if it's a taxable item, I still pay tax on the full price.
My Hy-Vee also delivers. You can give them your order over the telephone. They do the shopping and deliver to the house. I'm sure it's YMMV. And they've been doing this for like 40 years!!!

I use the special Hy Vee ad that a town next to mine puts out. They will have a one page ad in their town shopper and many times the items are different than my normal ad. I PM those and usually get a LOT off those items. Often the cashier will say "that can't be right" and gets the manager, but it is always correct.
Hy Vee will also give you an item for free if it rings up wrong. I have done this many times and sometimes I point it out to the cashier and other times I go to customer service counter. Lately though they have been very reluctant to do this. I have thought about complaining but my son works there and I don't want to make waves. For instance, last Friday I bought feta cheese that had a sign that said 2.49. Well it rang up 5.69 and they would not give it to me for free but did give me back the difference since there was a sign up and the guy stocking cheese said it was for all the flavors.

A lot of their items have been ringing up incorrectly. They haven't given me the item for free in the last year. I assumed they changed their policy. The other day they had Kraft Milk Bites on clearance for $0.50, because they were close to expiration. They rang up $3.69. I went back to the store about 12 hours later and they were still ringing up $3.69.
At least I got them for free after coupon! :yummy:

Tear pad alert!! I found two tear pads for Brach's candy. They are the same coupon but two different sizes. One pad was on a free standing display, the other was in the candy aisle where the bags hang. The little one has a thing to scan to win a gift card from HyVee the large one does not.
They are $1.50 but then don't specify what they are for. They do exclude seasonal and bulk. They have a picture of small bags of gummi bears and choc covered peanuts on them with a little blip that says "New" on the bag.
I bought 4 bags of cinnamon imperials, 1 Maple Nut Goodies, 2 Mandarin Orange slices. They were all on sale for $1.65. My receipt is weird. She could only get the register to accept 6 and I just told her that was fine, don't worry about it.
One coupon attached to two bags of the cinnamon imperials. There were only 4 shown on the receipt but at the bottom is says $9 coupon savings. (I didn't use any other coupons) So, beats the heck outta me. But I THINK if you stick to the ones that say "New" on the bag that they will scan off. The orange slices are new. The chocolate new stuff was over $2 so I didn't try any of it.
Also, just in case you missed it, butter is on sale for $1.49 right now.

does anyone else have the problem that the registers at our new store don't read the new barcode on coupons. If the coupon has an old barcode it will go right through but the new ones have to be put in manually. Very frustrating.

I noticed the other day that the cashier did this with the Ken's dressing coupons (that was all I had for coupons). I thought he was doing it because the price was $0.99 and the coupons were for $1.00. Usually, my store scans coupons. So, I hope it was a one-time occurrence.

I only had 2 of the Ken's dressing coupons, but used them to purchase the Italian dressing to use as marinade. You'll be jealous to know my store has lots of the Brach's packages marked 2/$1. General Mills Cereal deal in new ad. (not sure if anything is on sale though).
Coupon for $4 off, AND "$4 off future order" coupon prints.
I haven't looked too hard for coupons, but there are some on coupons.com and bettycrocker.com.
ALSO, check out the '$10 off future order coupon" on page 13 of the same main ad. Looks like some VERY good deal. Including the FREE bologna or Cotto Salami deal if you have use for it. (not sure I have ever saw them have an actual "free" offering, without additional coupons.)
------ GREAT coupons on www.couponnetwork.com
- $1 off Kraft Singles (could make them Free)
- $1 off TWO Kraft Dressing
- $1 off Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Cold Cuts
- $1 off MiO
I think with these coupons, I will have to do the deal a time or two. I actually like the cotto salami.....:blush2: but, I really need to keep it out of the house, since I have no willpower. (making it FREE, is going to be hard to resist. ha)

Did both of these this morning!! A couple things I'll note. No cereal formally "on sale" per the ads but the store I went to had several marked down to $2.99-ish, mostly the sugary kids cereals but they also had big boxes of Cheerios @ $3.39...still came out <$1 per box which seems to be about as good as it gets for cereal around here any more
Kraft....I had a fiasco at the register....bought 10 items between the singles, bologna, miracle whip size that was on sale, planters PB - checked several times as did the cashier & manager. My guess is that one of those is not working to trigger that CAT or it could have just been a store-specific issue. Just watch your receipts/look at what prints immediately if you do it. Manager straightened it out for me.
Honestly, even for the peanut butter - with the cost of PB going up $.99/jar isn't horrible for that either. Pretty good deals this week overall, best week in a long time I think. I also did the Betty Crocker fruit snacks deal....on sale 4/$9 and store Q making them 4/$5 minus 2 $.60/2 coupons made them less than a buck per box. Only did that one once for some variety since we are swimming in fruit snacks from Target's deal on MP fruit snacks!
Is this the ad starting tomorrow for the free bologna and stuff?

Out of curiousity... does the Kraft Salad dressing coupon work on the miracle whip and mayo? I thought I read somewhere that the bottles say the words "salad dressing" on them somewhere, and that it was a legal use of the coupon. I am probably just "selectively" remembering that. :D
Thanks for the reminder on the peanut butter..... I agree, that is a good price. I haven't ever tried that brand, but any brand works for us.

 I have no idea....but that is a "creative" use LOL ;) It's just a different kind of salad dressing....pasta salad, potato salad, etc. :D
DH and I were just talking tonight and we think it is the closest to Skippy out of any we've tried recently. He has a preference for Skippy (which was usually the one that was cheapest with sales, etc. anyway) but preferences in PB have gone out the window lately due to prices and we just get whatever. DD can't eat PB (peanut allergy...we can still have it in the house and consume it as her PA isn't severe) and I don't eat a ton but dh loves it for quick work lunches so I was sad when it went up. Still a relatively cheap protein source though compared to some things!
I liked that they have several good deal items within this sale....might actually be able to do it another time or two and not get overstocked on stuff.

Went to HyVee this morning. (our ad just started today.) Almost all of the peanut butter was gone. I got 5 jars. (two of them had '$1 off with Ritz purchase", so I grabbed 2 boxes since Ritz were on sale for $2 per box.) Good price, so keep your eyes open for the couponed jars.
I did two trips.... Oscar Mayer Chicken lunchmeat, Cheese slices, cotto salami, bologna.
Mio, Oscar Mayer lunchmeat, cheese slices, and peanut butter.
All printed the $10 coupon fine. (But, typical me..:P forgot to use the $10 coupon on my second trip, so I cannot confirm that it rolls fine.)
I joked with one of the checkout people, saying I would probably be back in 10 minutes, and he said.... "Hey, that is totally acceptable. In fact, there is no need to leave the store, if you want to do the $10 deal again, just go get the items." I always figured they probably didn't care, but it was nice to hear it confirmed.
Soap box...... I certainly do not live in a large metropolitan city, but it seems like on every corner, there is someone with a sign asking for money for food. I can be as sympathetic as the next person, and I do believe that there are probably some legitimate panhandlers around here.... but, it is ads like these today, where I wonder if I handed one of them the "$10 off future order coupon" and told them how they could go get 10 packages of lunchmeat, and then use the $10 coupon they receive for bread, etc... my bet is that there are not many that would truly be interested in getting free food. (Sorry.... for the rant. I just love seeing opportunities for people to get "next to free" groceries, but get so irritated that people will not actually follow thru. [this includes my own relatives that are above bologna sandwiches, but really shouldn't be... not sure why college grads cannot live on the basics like the rest of us did when we first started out.] SORRY SORRY SORRY. but, gosh I feel better.:D

Planter's Peanut Butter -- it has become our preferred brand. Unfortunately my HyVee has been out of creamy for several weeks now and has the same two jars of crunchy. We had been Jif eaters.
Since I couldn't get Planters I bought another jar of Jif and had the chance to do a side by side. Made two halves for DH. He said both were good but he preferred "that one" and then proceeded to tell me that he thought "that one" was Planters and the other one was Jif. He was right. Since I made the sandwiches I was wiping the knife and doing my taste test. I preferred Planters too.
Now, since I don't know a damn thing about this ad and sale and I'm go Rochester Friday -- where there are two HyVees -- I'd better go read it.
Out of curiousity... does the Kraft Salad dressing coupon work on the miracle whip and mayo? I thought I read somewhere that the bottles say the words "salad dressing" on themMiracle Whip IS salad dressing and says so on the label. Mayo is not.
<sigh> And I just bought a jar of Miracle Whip AND a jar of Mayo a few days ago because I needed them. Grrrrr
sign asking for money for food. Get back up on your soap box. It irritates me since most if not all of them are beggars by trade. I wonder how many of them have applied AND gone back over and over to Mc Donalds. Seems like every McD you see has a help wanted sign.
Powerade - There is a HyVee coupon for 5 free when you buy 10 at $1 each in the flyer. I think there were tearpads at HyVee for 5 free wyb 10 but if not I know for sure there were some at Fareway.
So, buy 10 and get 5 free with the HyVee coupon = $15 for $10
then use mfr. coupon and it should take off $5 = 15 for $5

If you have a No frills or Bag N Save by you.. Free Hot dogs or dressing after the cat. They have a $5 off coupon in their AD. If your store will let you use 2 coupons in one transaction (coupon does NOT state 1 per transaction, manager and I looked this over and both coupons will scan) MM if you have coupons
1.99 x 10 = 19.90
- 2 store coupons -10
9.90
receive 10 cat
Hope this helps someone in the midwest looking for deals on the kraft promo

Someone mentioned the GM cereal promo up above. With the new Savingstar coupons, you can get 4 boxes for nearly free. Bought 1 Lucky Charms, 1 Golden Grahams, and 2 Cheerios, each for $2.99 --> $11.96 - $4 off instantly - $4 OYNO Catalina - $1.10/2 Cheerios on Pillsbury.com -$1/2 GM cereals on coupons.com = $1.86 and get back $0.50 (Cheerios), $0.50 (Lucky Charms) and $0.75 (Golden Grahams) on Savingstar = $0.11 for all 4. We only eat the Cheerios, but I'll take those for a nickel a box.
Also did the fruit snacks again. 4/$5 - two $1/2 from Pillsbury.com and get back $0.50 in Savingstar = $0.63/box. Not as good as the Target deal, but with all our children, we need as many cheap boxes as I can find. ;)

:D
The Salami triggers the cAT? Interesting..... I passed it by because it wasnt listed as participatin. May have to run back

I spotted at B2G1 Nabisco crackers on coupons dot com today. Should work great for the Ritz that's on sale.
Also, our Planters PB had peelies on it for $1.50 off wyb Planters and 3 boxes of Kraft Mac & cheese (on sale for .89 each). They had an end cap all set up with signs and everything. Got to checkout and the peelie just beeped so they had to take it off manually.

I saw those peelies the other day too, and then the next day when I went back to the store for something a stocker was moving the display and pulling all of the peelies off and throwing them away. I asked why they do that and he said he was told that 'coupons are a hassle'.

Just got back from doing the same. Rolled it 3 times and put the final Catalina into the GM snacks (don't forget the $0.75 back on Savingstar wyb 3) and Cheez-its. My Hy-Vee requires a manager's key after $10 in coupons. Poor guy got called over 4 separate times for that + the time when cashier couldn't figure out how to scan the Savingstar key tag. On the up side, he told me that if I ever wanted to do this again, just to let him know, and he'd open up a lane for me.:omg:
What is the savingstar thing? I wonder if my store has this? hmmm
I know it's too late for most of you....but...I found some $1 off Planters peanut butter peelie coupons at Pamida on the Planters peanuts. Would make the peanut butter free with cat and coupon!

Thanks! I had some and I didn't know where I got them. that could be where mI will have to look if there are more but our pamida is closing in 12 days so likely none left. :( Will look though. I got a raincheck for the peanut butter so that would be great. :)

The Pamida I stopped at had weeks left yet. Only 10 to 40% off. What's yours at? I'm dreaming that everything might go 90 or 95% off the last day or days. Totally OT, sorry. We should have a Pamida closing clearance thread!

Well, I procrastinated and finally went to Hy-Vee tonight.
On the shelves, the cereal signs said Cheerios were $2.49 after coupon in the store ad plus get $4 back OYNP. Then it said save an additional $1 - ask cashier. I did ask and they didn't know. So, I used my own MQs and Cheerios were $0.94 after calculating all discounts.
The Betty Crocker fruit chews all rang up 4 for $9. I was taxed on $9. I didn't realize these were a taxable item. The store ad gave me an additional $4 off so they were 4/$5. Isn't the coupon in the ad a store coupon? Or is it a manufacturer coupon? According to the tax, it was a MQ. How was I able to use additional IPQs? It doesn't make sense.

I thought the Oreos @ $1.99 were a decent deal too. There's a $1/2 Nabisco cookies/crackers IP at smartsource.com....so $1.49. Limit 2. Tossed mine in the freezer to save for holiday baking and stuff.
All of the Campbell's soups were $1, which isn't really any sort of "deal" for things like cream of chicken, tomato, etc. BUT it was a good deal to me for some of the more "rare" ones that don't seem to be included in most of the good fall/winter sales. Campbell's coupons: http://www.campbellskitchen.com/coupon.aspx
Progresso recipe starters IP's:
Facebook $.50/1: https://www.facebook.com/Progresso/app_403088746415995
$.65/1: http://www.myblogspark.com/uc/main/dc39/ospe.php3?SES=75aecd43775b105e8bff785a402306fd
There is also a $.50/1 on coupons.com
Also some progresso coupons for the starters and light soups here: http://progresso.com/coupons-and-promotions ....and one for regular soups here: http://www.quericavida.com/en/offers/
My biggest find yesterday I think was balls of fresh mozzarella cheese for $1, marked down from about $5 because they were short-dated 9/7 exp. Yum. Also used up some Seattle's Best coffee $1.50/1 mq's since that's on sale for $5.99 @ HV this wk. Target here must not carry this anymore? Their "5" is one of dh's favorites.

What is the savingstar thing? I wonder if my store has this? hmmm
If you ever used the Upromise "coupons," Savingstar is similar. You'll need a Hy-Vee keytag (available at service desk in most Hy-Vees) to scan at the time of purchase. Register it online at savingstar <dot> com. Then, every month - and usually every Thursday - you can activate ecoupons. If you buy certain product(s), you'll get money into your Savingstar account. When it hits $5, you can transfer it to Paypal or your bank account. CVS is the only other store that participates in my area. You can use manufacturer coupons with this as well. I used it w/the fruit snacks and cereals that I mentioned in the above posts. I also did it last week with the Planter's peanut butter Kraft catalina and peelies. (Bought 10 participating Kraft items, get $10 ONYO cat. Five of those items were the peanut butters w/$1.50 off 3 mac and cheese peelies when you buy the PB. Savingstar had a coupon for buy 15 boxes and get $5, so . . . mac and cheese $0.89*15 = $13.35 - $5 Savingstar = $8.35 - $1.50*5 = $0.85 for 15 boxes mac and cheese.) The transfers to your Paypal/bank occur within 1-2 days of your requesting it.

The Upromise key tag works for Savingstar too. (Same parent company now operates both.) I've had this tag for years, but I'll check to see if any of the Hy-Vees around here still have some. The Hy-Vees by my in-laws in Des Moines still had some a few months ago because I got one for the MIL.

Thank you so much for replying! I checked a Target receipt and they charged tax on fruit snacks, too. So, I guess it's right. Now I just don't know about the store ad coupon. It must be a manufacturer coupon and not a store coupon based on being taxed on $9 instead of $5.

ugh...same here....and I used to always click on the images in the ads to add to my "list" over on the side and now I can't figure out how to do that. had to open up a new tab and in the first tab view the ad then when I saw an item I wanted to add, search it on the second tab in the little search box and "add" it that way. super inconvenient and I hope that change that back :(
I dont know if this is a "new" feature, or if I finally noticed it. I see you can now click on the full page, and it opens a new window that allows you to add anything from that page to your shopping list. ...... I have a feeling, you guys will tell me it has been that way for months. :O :D

It has only been that way for maybe 2-3 wks. if that makes you feel any better :D LOL.
I noticed it immediately....only because I had hounded HV on their facebook page about adding this back in as it was vital to my process for looking through the ads & making a list. Was a pain in the rear until they got that fixed, but I'm glad they seemed to listen. I don't get paper ads until a couple days after they come out here so I always look online first.

I'd mentioned that on their facebook page too - I am trying to do as much paperless as I can; don't want to waste printer ink. So for now I have this app called SugarSync & anything you want synced between your computer/phone/cloud you save in this folder called the 'magic briefcase' on your desktop and then it will automatically sync it between all of those. So I create my list on their web page through clicking now, copy & paste to my 'grocery list' Word doc., & save....then it automatically shows up on my phone when I need it. The same app also syncs all of my phone photos after I take them and then they're automatically backed up on my computer....this is what I originally got if for after losing a bunch of photos several months ago...works like a charm. The whole list thing works fairly well now that it's all set up but yeah - wish they'd just make it so that you could save it in your account online and then be able to access it via the app!!
Or there's always the old-fashioned way...pen & paper list....my problem is my tendency to then lose said list :P

Where is everyone at? I have been liking the 3 day ad, today is the last day. HyVee is a lil further drive, so I have been pm'ing the purex 150oz for $3.99 at wm, using the $1 off 1 purex q from last weeks insert.
The milk and sun chips aren't a bad deal either. Rice krispies would be good, but I don't have any q's right now.

I am sooo sorry! I mixed up my 2 day sales. That's ok. A few of us have reported Fareway deals here on purpose. We should probably change this to the HyVee and Fareway thread. HyVee deals:
--- Yoplait simplait included in $0.39 sale - $0.30 IP or GM insert = $0.09. Buy 6+ and get back $0.40 Savingstar credit.
--- Pillsbury cookies 4/$10 - $3.50 ad coupon - two $1.10/2 IPs and get back $1 Savingstar credit. YMMV but I was also allowed to use my "save $2 on MILK wyb 2 Pillsbury cookies" with this, so got two gallons of milk for $1.39.
--- Activia 4-pack $2 - $1 TP = also nice.
On a side note, I could have happily strangled the Hy-Vee manager last night. The milk/cookie coupon was scanned first and wouldn't scan (guessing Pillsbury isn't going to code HyVee milk in that already ridiculously long barcode). Cashier scanned my TEN Yoplait, TWO Activia, and TWO regular Pillsbury cookie coupons, and then called manager, who preceded to tell me that I couldn't use the milk coupons because it was "doubling."
--- Me: "You mean because I had cookie coupons?"
--- Him: "Ma,aaaaaaaammmmm, you're only allowed to use one of these per transaction!"
--- Me: "So you mean I have to buy each yogurt in a separate transaction?"
--- Bagger tries to intervene unsuccessfully.
--- Lady behind me: "For the love of . . . ."
--- Him: "Yes."
--- Me: "Ah, OK, that's going to be 10 transactions."
--- Him: (red faced) "I'll let it slide just this once. You coupon people are confusing."
Also did the Kraft deal at Fareway. Buy 10 items, save $8. Kraft Freshtakes $1.19 - $0.75 IP = $0.44.
IPs for the Velveeta shells NLA, but there were $1/2 earlier this week. Latter on sale for $0.99, so $0.49 each.
