Any chance the &&& "clutter" can be removed?? [Archive]

I have noticed that when someone posts a thread using the 'and' (&) sign, it turns out all

h.t.m.l. 'ish. ;)

Its cluttering the title of the post and sort of annoying to look at.. for me at least.

Any chance it can be fixed?

This one (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=136514) with just an ampersand looks OK but this one doesn't (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=156026) nor does this one (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=91817) or this one (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=58206) (with an ampersand and quotes).

& seems to work, &" seems to mess up the titles.

Is this what you mean jen_wv, or do you have examples of something else?

i had that clutter in one of my thread titles (not that it mattered anyway because my threads gets bumped down and not to be seen again :sadwalk:).

i fixed it with Raddish's help. it was easy....even for me.

I'm not sure, but it may happen when the mods merge a repost into the original thread. I've seen the annoying clutter after some posts get merged with the original and the original didn't have it.

I've removed it while merging, and sometimes it comes back anyways.

Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2, Wild Metal ( 1 2)It's interesting that the title of a similar thread (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=128449) ("Free Grand Theft Auto 1&2 and Wild Metal Downloads") looks ok, while the one you mention (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=62606) has the & problem in the title.

One difference between the two thread titles is there are spaces between the 1 and 2 in the problem title and the good title has no spaces there.
