I'm setting up a home automation system and will be placing one of these in each room (embedded in the wall) -- so that's a minimum of 8 -- I'd prefer to not have to take out a second mortgage on my brand new home to pay for them though :) I'm expecting to pay around $200 - $275, but would love to pay less, obviously.
I don't need anything fancy, 30gb hd is fine, doesn't need to be fast or anything (they are just clients (read: receivers) so all the processing is done elsewhere.
Thanks!

what about one of the archos tablets? They are less than 300 - the 60gb 5 series is 229 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D06BWC/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
Id on't know if it would work with however you need to setup your home automation system but they are certainly small and cheap enough.

Thanks! That's a great product (and it's only $179 over at newegg, not including bing CB!) - but unfortunately, I can't install windows on it -- which I just realized is a requirement for the software I'll be using.
Edit: Clarification: Need to be able to install Windows 7.
