Help me into the HD world

Hello I'm getting ready to buy my first HDTV.

My goals were

1. Watch blu-ray movies and gasp at the amazing quality
2. Play Wii

I have about $600 put aside for a nice sized tv.

The stand is about 7 foot from the couch


Any good deals? I'd like at least a 35"+ 1080p
