Okay, before people bitch and moan and do what they do, here's a few things

-I KNOW about OpenOffice. I just don't like it. I understand it's the second coming of Jesus to some of you, but to me it's pretty bad. I've used it exclusively for 6 months before. If you ask me, Lotus Symphony is better.

-I Know about the Ultimate Steal, I would love it if it were cheaper than that. I really don't need MS Office 2007 Professional with all the added crap. $60 for a ton of software I don't need just doesn't really interest me.

-Home and Student will work for me. I just need Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. If something else is cheaper elsewhere, that's okay.

-Multiple PC usage would be awesome (3+?). I know of at least two PCs I need it for, and a third is likely in the near future, depending on what all happens.

Thanks for the help. I've just not really found a good deal on this when I've been able to get it- all the deals hit when I'm flat broke.

Really not going to find any full version for under the $60. Even Student and Teacher on sale is around $80 most of the time. Only other thing is check with your employer and see if they participate in the Microsoft Home Use Program of Employee Purchase Program

I'm a student, and have no employer. So that's not possible.

I've seen the H&S edition down to as low as $65 for a 3-user edition, but if I was going to pay that, I might as well get the damned thing from Microsoft and get all the software.

I know last year lots of places had office on sale on black friday for $50-$70 depending on if you purchased a pc or not.

If you're meaning for me to pay $60 for it, yes. I'm a college student that' unemployed and surviving only off student loans and money that I made working full-time over the summer. I'm not exactly able to shell out $60 for some software.

Of note, I'm registering for a Computer Science class next semester, and the textbook has a 180-day trial, so I can pretty much survive from January to July off of that. It's just from October 30 to January that I'll need... I guess I can just use a "60" day trial from MS.

I think 60 day trial is going to be your best bet... Seriously though, ask for the $60 version for Christmas or something. That is dirt cheap for Ultimate.

The point is though that I don't need it. It's installed on my laptop at home, and I can't once think of a time I've needed something other than Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

I'd love to find MS Office 07 with those 3 for cheaper. The $60 version's cheap, but I'd rather not pay for what I'm not going to use.

you can download trial from M$, then use Office 2007 retail key purchased on ebay to activate it
(~ $20 and up depending on offering)
just make sure you are purchasing from seller with 100% or near 100% feedback
that is the cheapest you can get :) only other way is cheapier > to steal @ torrent download

Oh, okay.

The $60 is a cheap version. Go check on Amazon what a new retail copy of Office Ultimate or Professional runs. Even student and teacher is $100 at a lot of places.
