I need one that's 24" wide to fit into the storage area, and require one that's very easy to turn and navigate in tight spaces.

It looks like the Ariens Ariens Deluxe Platinum ST24DLE fits the bill because it has the "Automatic Traction Control" which is (I hope) something like a real differential. But it's $1300.

Any leads on getting a great deal on this appreciated. Or even a similar model with a real differential.

$1300 is a heck of a lot of money to spend on something that's only going to be used a few hours a year.

Check out an MTD at Menard's if you have one near you. I bought a 24" MTD about 15 years ago from Menard's and it's still running great. "Automatic Traction Control" sounds like a marketing thing that is just one extra thing to break. The MTD I bought 15 years ago has an option to allow the wheels to turn independently (so it's easier to turn or it locks both wheels together).

Just saw this deal: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1597126

Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Toro brand too.
