View Full Version : Are ads (The one in the upper right-hand corner specifically) controlled by SD or Google?
I'm just curious, because I'm using Chrome without AdBlock(:hide:) right now and I'm seeing the "scientology.org" ad. Ugh. I don't want to get into a debate about religion cults whatever that "thing" is etc. but is SD seriously sponsoring them? That's all I want to know.
IIRC, they are rotated between several ad networks.
BTW, google ads will always say "ads by google" somewhere on them.
Hmm..well..it's not showing up anymore. I'm just seeing a white square every other refresh or so and the usual 1saleaday ad and the usual text google ads.
If any of you mods/admins saw my post about this and took it down then I really appreciate it. I'm not a religion freak etc. and don't care what religion you are honestly, but I just think it's ridiculous and of all the places I expected to see the ad on..SD was not one of them considering the hundreds of thousands of dollars you have to pay to get in essentially. Anyway this isn't The Podium, so I'll stop right there..thanks again SD :)
EDIT: I'll send a few ad-clicks my way to show my thanks  ;)
EDI2: NEVERMIND  It's back :sadwalk:

They're rotated amongst a few ad networks. We can block certain ads if we know where it's coming from. Next time you see it, please hover over it to get the url and screen shot it. Maybe click on it to see where it goes to if you're willing.
