Looking to learn to snowboard and buy stuff for it

I am looking to get into snowboarding and am looking for a board. I will probably look on craigslist but I was hoping for some help.
I weigh 220 (hope to drop about 15-20lbs before xmas)
I am just under 6foot talll
shoe size 10.5

I am hoping to get a board size guide. I really have no idea and everything says different.
Would 158 cm be good?

A 158 is a great size unless you dont end up losing 20lbs. If you are not positive, to be safe i would look around in the 159 160 range.
Check here (http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm), they have a great chart/calculator and play around a little with the numbers until you find a size that fits you best.
