Did a search and didn't see this.
I recently got a letter from Nissan of North America indicating that the warranty on my murano's transmission has been extended from 5 years/60,000 miles to 10 years/120,000 miles effective immediately and at no charge. The included a stick to be applied to the warranty book.
The letter also states that if you paid to have your transmission replaced and it would have been covered with this new extended warranty, you will be reimbursed - even if you no longer own the car (see www.nissanassist.com).
Just wanted to share this in case someone didn't open the junk-mail-looking envelope.

Not just Muranos........my wifes new Nissan Cube is also covered! The potential for CVT problems was one of the misgivings that I had about buying the car but this is great. Thanks for letting me know!

Setting aside your needlessly snippy response and drama, I did consider which section this information should be posted in.
My reasoning for placing it in freebies goes like this...
If you
a) own a nissan that is past your warranty (as stated in your warranty book),
b) have a transmission problem, and
c) visit slickdeals
You would likely try to save some money by taking it to an independent repair shop who would charge you for a repair. This post shows you how to receive a free transmission from the dealer. I believe the transmissions cost in excess $3,000 as they cannot be rebuilt and must be purchased at MSRP.
Given the above, I felt his post was...
a) a slickdeal and
b) a freebie
