I need a new laptop, my 11mo old crawled across the screen of my old one. It was near death anyway so now I'm just doing it sooner.

This is what I found that appears to be the best deal for what I am looking for: 14 inch or smaller, onboard optical drive, reasonably fast and decent storage.

HP - Pavilion Laptop with AMD Turion™ II Dual-Core Mobile Processor - Moonlight White
Model: dv4-2045dx | SKU: 9554671

Does anyone know of any coupons or promotions that can help with the price? Just before Christmas (and both kids birthdays in December) I feel guilty spending that much on myself.

Any help is appreciated. I know good form too..... first post asking for help.

Thanks

I don't think that Best Buy coupons ever work on computers.

If you're not absolutely set on buying that HP from Best Buy, here's an alternative:
Lenovo G450 - 2949CHU - Grey for $450. Pick the one that is on sale for $599 here (http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=4642DE4A4E0649DDBE89721AA196D9F3) then use eCoupon cmprhV6l8SQA to take off $150 from $599 making it around $449. Comparing this Lenovo to the HP you're looking at, the Lenovo has a 16:9 screen while the HP has a 16:10 screen, so it's wider, but a little bit shorter. The Lenovo's screen is LED backlit. The Lenovo has a 2.1Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with DDR3 RAM while the HP has a 2.2Ghz AMD Turion processor with DDR2. These two processors should perform similarly. Both have 320GB hard drives, but the Lenovo's is 5400RPM while the HP's is 7200RPM. The HP's integrated ATI HD 4200 graphics is better than the Lenovo's Intel X4500.

Here's an expired thread (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1622875) for a similar deal on this laptop. The CPP thing doesn't seem to be working along with the eCoupon this time.

The Lenovo is a much better deal than the HP.

Better build quality, too.
