Is it?

I'm asking becuase I've seen some reposts of offers in forums other than the one they are supposed to be in and the OP (usually a noob)claims that they searched and searched (they didn't) and that no repost alert sounded when they hit submit. In each case, the deal was posted in a form th than te oe where he original thread resided.

Now, it could be that they they only searched in the wrong forum as opposed to doing a site-wide search so the deal didn't come up. My Question is, would that also make it so that the repost alert wouldn't detect the links as identical?

Another question - I've noticed that when an OP includes more than one link in the original post of a thread, it seems to affect the Repost alert. is that my imagination or does posting multiple URLs in a thread's opening post screw with the repost detector?

Thanks

no, its in the freebie section only. problem with making it past freebie is there's a lot of duplicate url's in the hot deals section that aren't reposts.

Yes, it affects the Repost Finder. If the URL checker finds moe than 1 URL in the post, it will stop & not search for a previous match.

Is there some kind of repost detector? I reposted one today that I just plain forgot to check for reposts on and I got slammed by someone who never makes a mistake.

in the freebie section there's something that checks the url to see if its been posted before.

its far from perfect, but helps a bunch.

I don't think so ... I'm pretty sure Apple' goes to all of the areas from time to time. ;)
