1 month and counting until the new season starts...

Any ideas on how this seasons going to go? The only previews/clips I've seen is Jack wondering around what looks like Arizona, and he answers his cellphone "How did you get this number?" I have no idea what's going to happen... and that's what i love

 :punk:

S1 and S5 had the "shocker" endings:
S1: David Palmer was nearly assassinated (that dirty handshake)
S5: Bauer was kidnapped and shipped off to China, perhaps evening the US/China trade deficit since Bauer has to be worth at least $100 billion.

Well, it's not even that. The 1st 5 min. of 24S6E24 were lame w/ Chloe being pregnant.

I know how can the doctor know she was pregnant when jack came back to the contry just less then 1 day before :P

Back on topic: well it is better then what I heard that she was going to die

I was pretty sure it was you, but was going to dig back several pages to find your posts confirming that. Talk about "24" overload. Since you probably have the freshest memory on Seasons 1-6 out of all of us, how would you rank them? I haven't re-watched any episodes or seasons, so the details of prior seasons slip away as I watch new seasons. :(

I do remember Kim Bauer's "jiggling" in her underwear at the beginning of Season 2. :O

Yes, but it would be hard to get individual episodes from prior seasons since most people delete those files. However, one can find full seasons on BT.

Yeah her character was annoying, but fun to look at, that's for sure.

It's "fresh" in my mind, but lots of stuff runs together watching them all in that short amount of time. I go Season 3 > Season 1 > Season 2 > Season 4 > Season 5 > dogcrap >>>>> Season 6

Anyone note the trend? And Season 3 was my favorite because that bitch Nina Myers got hers in the middle of it.

Man Accused of Airing '24' Online Preseason

Source: Deseret News (Salt Lake City)
Publication date: 2007-06-03

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Federal authorities have charged a Chicago man with copyright violations for allegedly uploading several episodes of Fox's "24" on the Internet before the show's season premiere earlier this year.

Jorge Romero, 24, used a Web site to download the first four episodes of the sixth season of "24" and then uploaded them to LiveDigital.com, according to a federal complaint filed in Los Angeles on Friday.

The episodes appeared online more than a week before their television debuts on Jan. 14 and 15.

Romero was charged with one felony count of uploading copyrighted material to a publicly accessible computer network knowing the work was intended for commercial distribution.

I thought when they went to the new "season format" a few years ago (first episode airing in January, and running through may sweeps), they finished filming the entire season before episode 1 even aired? I could be wrong, but I thought that's how it went.

In past seasons, the filming was done only several weeks (maybe at most a couple months) before an episode aired.

It doesn't look like the damn writers will be returning. Couldn't they just hire scabs?

It's official: FOX is postponing "24" until Jan. 2009 (http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/14/tv.24delay.ap/index.html). :crying:

Fox: '24' on shelf until next January
NEW YORK (AP) -- One fallout of the Hollywood writers strike is that fans of Fox's drama "24" have to wait until next January to see Jack Bauer again.

The network has committed to air a full season on consecutive weeks and had been planning to start last month. If it had started airing new episodes soon, the season finale would not have taken place until the summer, when TV networks rarely show their high-profile programs.

Even though eight episodes for this season had already been filmed before the beginning of the writers strike, producers would have had to ramp up production soon to complete the season.

So "24" represents this television season's most prominent casualty due to the writers strike.

A January 2009 start seemed the best way to comply with viewers' wishes that a season's episodes run without interruption to conclusion, Fox said on Thursday.

Another reason they could've reshot is if the writers decided to change the plot to something else. But if they still went the same direction, you're right that it'd be wasted expense to reshoot, assuming no one important dramatically changed their appearance that makeup wouldn't be able to account for.

Remember, "24:Redemption" airs tomorrow night! :woot: :bounce: :whee:
so is the new season related to this african setting, or is this an entirely different plot just compressed down to two hours?

I can't wait the ~2 mos. until Season 7 begins.

For those who missed the 2-hr. movie event of "24", you can probably watch it later from fox.com or you can rent/buy the DVD starting this Tues.

It's confirmed that Tony Almeida will be back next season. And apparently as a bad guy. Interesting previews they showed tonight. The DVD of tonight allegedly has much more previews.

I recently saw The Brotherhood of Justice (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090775/), which is about 22 years old. It stars Kiefer Sutherland and Keaunu Reeves. Reeves was the main actor, but as a supporting actor, whenever I saw Sutherland, I was thinking, "What would Jack Bauer do in this situation?"

If you've seen 24: Redemption, I don't think this really spoils anything, but I'll put it in a spoiler anyway.

Not much happens IN Africa in the first 4 hours, but you can tell that there will be quite some focus on what goes on there in this season. Not sure just how much they'll focus on it, but it's kinda a centerpiece right now. Hope that didn't spoil anything.

Jack is still Jack and the gov.'t is still full of corruption, all the way to high levels, apparently. I had a feeling that Tony Almeida was a double agent. You have to suspend belief in reality for some of the plot, but hey, just enjoy the ride, right? Kind of like Jack did while driving out of the garage.

My prediction is that Tony will die sometime during the show, but in a manner that will save Jack Bauer's life. In a figurative sense (and maybe literal), Tony will take a bullet for Jack. I think Bill will also die. But Jack and Chloe will live. The cute freckled FBI chick
will live. Heck, she's already turning into Jack(ie) by torturing that guy in the hospital.

Also, the guy who hacked around to ground his wife's plane will get OWNED (arrested). I I wonder why he doesn't wear a wedding ring?

I am guessing it has something to do with our American turn of the English language. For a man to be referred to as "Sir" would imply he had received or was a knight of a proper order of the Queen. As a woman would be "Lady" Whatever in England, not "Madame."

Mrs. implies that she's married, which isn't necessarily true. Madam is correct. Sir is a term for the knighted, compared to the feminine Dame. Mr. and Madam are the correct terms, although Americans seem to have grown fond of the term 'Ms'. I'm not sure at what point that became more acceptable than Madam.

I'll reply to all 3 of these quotes in 1 quote. I always thought Mr. was the opposite of Mrs. (or Ms.) and that Sir is the opposite of Ma'am/Madam/Madame (however you spell it). "Sir" has multiple definitions - the British knight one and as a way to address a man.

Damn right she's no Chloe!

OK, favorite scene from last night was when Chloe is monitoring the video feed helping Jack and Tony escape, and Janice pings the server. Then Chloe gets back in. :woot:

 My husband tells me "I'd like to see Chloe and Janice hack a server, then get in a mud wrestling match"
I might pay money to see that wrestling match. My bet would be all-in on Chloe.

No, you're thinking of the typical use of the word 'sir', not the title of "Sir". We're talking about titles here. Sir means you've been knighted, that's why it's capitalized. And the opposite is Dame. You might here a butler call you sir, but he'd never call you Sir Bill Taylor or something like that. You're not a knight. He would call you Mr. Bill Taylor (or Master if you were a child. He'd typically call a woman Madam, or Lady/Miss for a child). Mr. is a title in English nomenclature, not Sir. The opposite of Mr. is Madam. It's clearly not Mrs. because that's not really a declarative title, it's announcing you as the wife of someone, not someone in a ranking position. If you called someone Mrs. President or Mrs. Secretary, it's sort of announcing you as the wife of the President or Secretary. Madam declares YOU to be in the position of power. And Ms. is a relatively recent invention, mostly used for teachers since many of them remain unmarried these days. Madam is correct.

Thanks for the info. I always thought Mr. and Mrs. (or Miss or Ms.) were opposites. I guess "Mr." has multiple meanings as well, one of whose opposite is apparently Madam.

We have a mole in the Secret Service, another mole in the Whitehouse staff, another mole in the FBI.

God these writers dont lose too much sleep thinking of story lines their daily meeting consist of the following:

Head Writer: Ok for the 5th and 6th episode we are kind stuck in the story

writer: how about we say there is a mole in the Chloe, Bill office?

head Writer: I like that, that is some good work, very suspenseful and creative

Another writer: there are just two of them in the office, so which one is the mole?

head writer: who cares, we are going with a mole in the new CTU office, great work guys

One thing I noticed is that Jack Bauer's fight scenes seemed better and more realistic. Better choreography. You don't usually see that in a TV show but with 24 being such a huge hit and the major following they may have decided to spend some money on subtle details for the quality of the show.

Any comments about last night's show? I knew Bauer would shoot the freckled FBI chick in a manner as to not kill her. But I wonder why she didn't scream or writhe in pain. I guess he shot the part of her brain that controls sensation?

I thought for sure that the guy at the embassy was a goner. He was saved by the ring ... that phone call from the FBI.

The First Man is stupid and deserves to die. I can't stand him (character). I just hope the life of that hot brunette (First Son's g/f) somehow is spared.

yeah, and i dont think he actually shot her at all, it was more over her shoulder (at least, thats the direction his gun was aimed when they had a camera shot to the right of him looking towards her back), although i thought i saw some blood on her ear or something when he flipped her over onto her back.

also, i think its interesting that when she had her eyes open as she was getting burried, she saw tony, and saw that tony saw her with her eyes open and didnt react, so she knows that he must be helping her too.
but at the same time, why did she keep her eyes open when tony showed up? she didnt know that tony was in on this too until he saw that he didnt react to her still being alive.

He grazed her neck with the shot

I'll just multi-quote here to respond randomly to parts of some or each. :D

I don't have TiVo or a DVR (yet), so I couldn't replay that shot. I remember that him whispering in her ear. I thought he shot her in the head, but in a way to miss the vital parts of the brain. If he just shot her in the ear, then obviously that is not life threatening. But I'd think human nature would be if shot in the ear (or anywhere for that matter), even if you're told to keep quiet, you'd be in so much pain you'd be screaming if you could.

Also, you're right that she should've kept her eyes closed b/c what if the other guys came over to verify she was indeed dead. On that note, those other guys, who were wary of Jack Bauer to begin with, should've gone there to check her pulse and make sure she was indeed dead. In real life, they would've. But obviously in the story, they're keeping her alive for a reason.

Oh, when she disobeyed the FBI director's order to return to the office and decided to go to that house, I knew that she'd get captured and Bauer would be told to shoot her. So that part was predictable. I just thought that FOX would've had Bauer really shoot her execution style to show how grave the situation is and that he'd do whatever it takes for the people of Sangala. (I almost typed Sanjaya. )

I think she's still alive. Jack will probably tip someone off at FBI of her location so that she can be dug up and rescued. In "24", you can't say w/ certainty if someone is dead or not. Jack and Tony are living proof of that.

I was thinking that, but it was more disturbing that Jack covered her with plastic, not thinking he'd have to bury her. Even a light covering of dirt over that plastic means she can't breathe, and had to choose between passing out and popping up after 3-4 mins without knowing if they were done.

Jack doesn't do horny ... what kind of love scene would it be anyway ... ?

Dammit Michelle, we're out of time!

alright let's get this over with

[something "slips"]
DAMMIT!

Jack makes Tony "promise he'll turn himself in" "lol: "you promise?" *pause* "yeah"

Either Tony's gonna go bad again, or he'll be the new lead roll after this year.

 Renee would probably be upset if Jack called her "Michelle". :whee:

Yeah, Jack would constantly be looking at his watch. And God help her if he resorts to torturing her while in the act.

Speaking of torturing, it looks like Jack will get his hands on that bad FBI agent who kidnapped First Man Taylor.

And about Tony, the way he paused before shaking Jack's hand, it seems like he's got other plans. But that look also gave me the feeling he'll be killed this season. :( Maybe Bill B. as well (whom I thought would've been shot during all that gunfire ... kind of ridiculous that they kill all but Dubaku and a couple others whereas no one from Jack's team is even injured - until Dubaku blew up that guy.

So who are the moles?

That one dude that suddenly knew level 5 clearance to get his wife's plane on the ground (after complaining about being locked out because he didn't have level 4 clearance) is obvious.

Also, the security dude in the white house, not the gray haired skeptic ... the short black haired dude (I think in charge of secret service???)

i feel like the vice pres is the mole, his surprise reaction to the pres getting a call from dubaku seemed genuine, but for the wrong reasons, if that makes sense.

Pres. Taylor is a mole! Maybe Jack will torture her next week when they meet. :P

Did that guy who kidnapped First Man Taylor clean up that chick's apt. (the presumably dead limo driver and the chick) before he and Taylor left? Eventually, another FBI agent who got the APB will go there and find the dead bodies.

"24" came in at 17 last week in the Nielsens TV ratings.

yeah, the vice seems dirt...but I am sure there's more people involved.

I also agree with the vice pres. being up to know good. I still don't like the FBI guy Sean Hillinger. Still thinks he has an attitude problem or hiding something.

I'm sure it'll come to light that he pulled some strings illegally to ground his wife's plane. And it may also come to light that he's supposedly having an affair w/ a coworker. At least he's got good taste and it's not w/ J. Garafalo.

Not only that, but I found it funny that right after Larry told Renee that they should meet face-to-face to make sure she's not under duress, both parties were at the rendezvous after the commercial break - some 5 or 7 min. later. DC is like LA in that there is no traffic.

I knew that Bauer was going to have to kill that dirty Fed. But I missed how Bauer got struck. He looks like he was favoring his rib cage. Did the guy get a shot in?

I just want the First Man, Henry Taylor, to go away. He's just too annoying and stupid. For example, when he had a couple moments to speak w/ his wife, Pres. Taylor, rather than BS'ing around, he should've started revealing things, such as the name of that dirty agent, and other useful info., until Dubaku would've taken the phone away.

Dubaku's g/f's fugly sister is onto him! :woot:

Landers, I think Larry is clean, but I'm not sure about Tony. Too bad no Chloe this episode.

I bet she wasn't doing anything to the baby. He was already crying and the mother couldn't see what was being done to the infant. She was probably just squeezing his cheeks and patting him on the head.

I knew there was no way she'd kill the family, even if Jack ordered her to. Or maybe she would've shot the mother in the knee just to have her scream so loud that the bad agent on the other end of the phone call would hear it and be in anguish.

BTW, "24" jumped to #14 (http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/nielsens-charts.htm) in the Nielsens ratings for the episode from 2 weeks ago.

Walsh? If they make him dirty the series would be over.

Maybe Cloe will call Janis "Honey" ... they set it up with the factory dude ... you knew he was dead the moment that dialog went down.

300 and counting. Most of those, of course, from the airplane collision. I don't think the count will increase significantly by the time this season ends.

I recently got my HTPC/DVR up and running, so I'm looking forward to FF through all those long commercials ... and not have to worry about rushing home from the gym.

Yep, that older sister is annoying and pretty rough on the eyes. Not good in hi-def to say the least.

The funniest line was the exchange between those 2 Feds:
"You're a little bitch, you know that?"
"No, you're a little bitch."
:lmao:

That younger sister is in trouble - poor girl. I thought FOX was misleading us every time they showed Walsh as acting shifty, but he is indeed dirty. Too bad Garafalo ruined it. BTW, how did Walsh know Bauer was still helping Moss and fabricated that federal arrest warrant?

Did anyone else find it funny that Chloe made it from the main gate where her husband dropped her off into the FBI office in literally 30 sec.? Boy she can fly!

Good to see Aaron back.

WHHHHhhhat?

How do you get Walsh being dirty? He sent Pierce (nicely played by Fox - we had to pause it to wipe a tear). That was a good scene with the Bitch daughter ...

It was that FBI weasel (Chad?) that set up the block-aid (he could have called the head of secret service - how does it figure to be Walsh? - he just got clearance and no one even knows it)... don't know if Janice even knows her part - hard to believe given her position.

Cloe's comments on the network set-up = classic Cloe

best episode this year - unless it's true that they made Walsh dirty - then it's just a matter of time till they turn Cloe and Jack bad ... pathetic. Ratings will drop faster than Chad's pants with that blond chic around.

ok smart ass - I watched it again. If you're f-in with me - you got me.

NOTHING suggests Walsh is dirty - he has nothing to do with the last scene. (or the second last.... he was not in contact with Jack or anyone with the scene. The only thing he did was sent Pierce) Walsh is being given White House clearence NOT FBI - The order to stop Jack came from FBI. There was no abiguity in that scene. The nerdy white shirt dude having the afair was clearly outed as the mole.

Beuwolf... you're like the 24 guru .... yet you said Walsh is definitly dirty ??? based on what? (He's always been a bad actor, don't confuse that with shifty - he went to the Kenu Reves school of acting, one emotion is all you get. ;) )
