View Full Version : Site Not Displaying Properly For Me
The site is not displaying right for me. Is this a problem for anyone else?
I Tried to attach a screen shot, but I can't get it to work. The font is really large, but it isn't a problem with my settings. Also, things just seem to be displayed haphazardly on the screen.

What browser are you using? Do you have an alternate browser that you can try?

Sorry for not including that info. I am using Firefox, but it is the same in internet explorer. Also, I am at work and behind a web sense firewall. I'm beginning to think web sense is making my SD life very miserable lately :(

Same for me. Websense has been blocking the tiny icons, too, for MONTHS. Any chance everything can be moved back to the main server?

I've noticed that too.. I've had to hover over to get the tooltip when wanting to browse by category.

Yes this seems to be the problem. Websense has been blocking everything that is http://i.slickdeals.net/*
I looked and the CSS style sheets that control the way the SD looks are now also stored on http://i.slickdeals.net/
For example, http://i.slickdeals.net/css/220/ice/global.css is blocked by Websense because it classifies it as an Advertisement.
Is there any way to move just the style sheets back to the main server? I can deal without the emoticons...

same issue here...web sense at work, and it looks all texty, no CSS or something. Worked fine yesterday.

I have the same issues as reported by others today. I figured it was Websense since other sites work fine.
The site looks fine on my iPod Touch when I walk outside and steal some free WiFi, so it's definitely Websense that cripples SDers at work.

Slickdeals will have to change what server the CSS is stored on and put it back on the main SD server. As of right now, there's nothing we can do.

weird, wonder why they changed it all of a sudden? Load balance the CSS? haha

I have this same problem. If you look at the firefox error console you can see that it is a problem with the CSS mime type being set to text/html instead of text/css. This causes firefox/ie 7 to reject the style sheet. No idea why this is happening

Yes, it says this because the style sheet is blocked by Websense. When you try to go to the location of the style sheet, you will see a blank page that just says "Advertisement." Therefore when FF tries to load the style sheet, all it gets is "Advertisement" which is why you see that "CSS mime type being set to text/html instead of text/css" error.

When I bypass our Websense filter the site displays properly. Has anybody contacted support? The question is, did Websense break it with an update or did SlickDeals move something?

We'll try to figure out a forward solution here. i.slickdeals.net doesnt serve ads, but is used to deliver images for thumbnails and pictures of products so why websense blocks it is a mystery to us.

I think I'm going to send a message to websense to ask them to remove i.slickdeals.net
Worth a shot anyway. Thanks for all you do.
