I inadvertently duplicated (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showpost.php?p=1966810&postcount=12) a post (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showpost.php?p=1966793&postcount=11) and wanted to mod alert one so that it could be removed, but the ability to mod alert one's own post seems to have disappeared.

where is it... I bet I'll never have the opportunity to mod alert one of your posts!
Done!

I'm still interested in the return of the ability to mod alert one's own posts.

you could just use the edit feature and delete everything in the second post.

mod alert an adjacent post, it works pretty much the same for us.

:iagree: that's what I di if I need to mod alert my own post. I mod alert the first reply.
It's a minor annoyance, but why not restore the ability?

The importance of being able to mod alert one's own posts became apparent again with this post: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=16556&t=173064
The OP had duplicated his own thread. There was no way he could mod alert it, since there were no other posts in it.
Maybe there is a benefit to the forum for not allowing self-mod-alerting, but I can't figure out what that benefit might be.

Feature needs to be added again. No point in not allowing it.

All it will be is asking the mod if the post CAN be deleted. It's not like we're asking to have the power to delete our own post. And then let the mod decide whether to keep or delete the post.

if you won't let us delete our posts, the least that could be done is allow us to modalert them :)
