why are my post counts going up and down?

Not that I care, but why do they keep going up and down? Are my posts being deleted?

If you post in a chat thread, the post counts, but then later it changes so that it doesn't count. Post counts doesn't count in chat threads. They count if you post in a non-chat thread. This mainly happens in the lounge, because thats where the chat threads are located. The most left column tells you whether its a chat, humor, sad, money, etc.

I knew that the chat posts don't count - but I didn't realize they added one and then removed one.

I forgot to mention that a thread might get deleted in which the thread was against SD rules.

chat thread posts don't count and then get taken away :rolleyes: they don't counnt right from the get go..I would assume that the threads you are posting in are either getting deleted or are getting changed to chat after they lose the chain of thought and get off track and a mod switches the icon to chat.

Exactly. I've never had my post count go down, but I don't do all that much lounge posting. I know I've posted in deleted threads and then not lost any count (oops, almost had a bad typo right there) when they went away, so I'd say it's all threads getting switched to chat. Actually, I think deleted threads aren't really deleted - just moved to modland. I think.
