You do not have to switch to wi-fi. I think this app calls your vonage number (through your phone network) & then patches/forwards the call to international number.

This sounds like a great app and a great price. I wonder if Vonage will shut this one down as they have their own app that brings revenue with separate plan.

Also, it would be great if it could some how make the call over wi-fi (when available) so the cell phone minutes are not used up.

Can you elaborate what exactly you mean 'set up call forwarding or simu ring'? I didn't do any of that, and when I call a number from cc.vonage.com, first my vonage line rings and then the called number. So, do you mean forward the vonage line to iphone?

well looks like the iphone app logs in to your vonage account and forwards the call with the number that you dial and after the call ends I assume they will disable the call forwarding!
I hope this doesnt upset vonage and take off the call forwarding for folks like me who use it for real forwarding! ;-)

You can't use with Ipod, you need iphone with data plan or wifi
One more issue is there, if we use this application, we are sharing our user id and pwd and tel number to the application, if the apps development comapny wants to see our personal details like address,credit card details, they can see usinging this application, if they wish:confused::confused:

Vonage has served me well in the past but with so many VOIP services launching I stopped using it, there are far better alternatives. I've used Jajah and Skype which were both cheaper than Vonage. One service that looks great is CallArc. They are promising Free International Calls from the comfort of your own mobile phone.

I downloaded for iPod Touch even though it said does not work. I'm able to enter and verify credentials and settings worked fine. But when I try to call it says calling and then call gets ended. My remote phone did not ring.
I have used Vonage/Skype app on iTouch seamlessly. Not sure why this app can't be supported on iTouch when it uses PS network.
