How's it robbery?
I just bought Gabriel Iglesias tickets for my birthday. $35 a ticket became $45 each pretty damn quickly when you factor in service fees.
$2 ain't that bad.

I tried to order Avatar in a Imax movie theater.
If I purchase from theater directly, only $10 per ticket, no extra $2 convenience charge.

If you celebrate birthday every week, you will feel the pain.

I use Fandango when I'm seeing a movie in the one legit imax screen in NYC or a new movie, because I run the risk of not getting into the showtime I want. $2/ticket is a lot more convenient than having to go to the theater hours ahead of time to ensure you get tickets before a sellout.

I remember there was no convenience few years ago.
Or maybe because I always got free ticket before.:)
How is it robbery? You are voluntarily paying it. There is a non-convenience-fee option available to you. It's called go to the box office and buy them yourself if you don't want to pay the fee.

If you had an AMC membership before and you ask nicely, they'll give you the Stubs membership for 1/2 price. (Or I should say, "They might...they offered it to me.") I didn't take the guy up on it, but he said I could come back and get it any time.
YMMV

I had a "coupon" offer in the mail for that as well. Personally, I don't go to the movies enough to warrant myself paying that $6 but others might!
Thanks for pointing it out though. :)
