Ok, maybe I'm being overly picky but this is a pet peeve of mine...

Someone posts a deal that is similar to another deal, but is actually better. It automatically gets merged into the original thread but the title of original thread is not changed to reflect the new deal. Most recent example is the 5 for 10 soap deal for Bath and Body. It was tacked onto the 4 for 10 thread but the title was not changed to 5 for 10. Mods, if you are going to merge the threads, why can't you change the title to the new and better deal?

for something like this, it should be done. Since there was no 4 for 10 but the actual deal was 5 for 10. It was a good deal nonetheless.

Who would decide which title is superior?

What if neither title is completely accurate? Should we expect the volunteer moderators to take on the role?

This gets at the root issues of "title quality" and "post quality."

Moderators may not be familiar with that particular product or deal, so they'd have to pass it around until someone could decide. Then, they'd get flak from the membership for not getting it right, per someone else's views.

IMHO, if a poster believes a title should be changed, he should take it upon himself to request that change, either via a post in the thread or via PM to the OP.

This is pretty much a DIY forum; we have to take the initiative.
